For Gen 2 quads.

"Rivian’s Chief Software Officer Wassym Bensaid told The Drive the purpose of the RAD Tuner is to allow the owner the ability to customize the entire way the vehicle behaves and reacts. The RAD Tuner will be able to save up to 8 or 16 custom drive modes. The system is meant to truly unlock and demonstrate the “breath of performance,” Bensaid said. The final number hasn’t been determined yet."

it is not
This was the first update I was excited about and it's not coming to Gen 1. The only other update useful to me was Spotify. Rest are bug fixes.

Is that like the "breath of the wok" (wok hei), except it's the smell of burnt rubber (also intoxicating)?

Wonder if this is separate from the “Tuner Mode” in the manual mentioned in the Rivian Reddit? Hope so since having the ability to adjust the acceleration and steering weight would alleviate some of the main issues I have with my Gen1 R1S.

Too bad it's exclusively on the Quad.
"When it arrives in September via a free over-the-air (OTA) software update exclusive for the second-gen R1T and R1S Quad"

To be fair, for 99.9% of people, they have no clue how to bracket or to tune suspension, they will mess with it, realize their setting are so so and just revert back to standard options from that point on.

Do we know if this will be coming to gen 1 vehicles as well?
🤣

Oh, wait, you're serious.

Yeah, they haven't even given Gen 1 "Launch Mode" yet. Methinks any "new features" are done releasing for Gen 1. They want anyone who bought a Gen 1 as a "performance vehicle" to pay $120k+ for a new Gen 2 quad.

Well gen 1 quad LE also got the “$40-50k” cheaper ”feature”, which I’d say is pretty significant all things considered lol.
Yeah, $73k ($82k as mine was configured) vs. $120k? I'll keep my Gen 1.

Also, Quad is only available in Launch Green+black interior or Storm Blue+slate?

Only wheel options are the Quad-specific "Super Sport" staggered size, a new Bronze 22", the Dune 20" in dark, and the 20 AT-Dark. I do like the look of Launch Green with the bronze, but really they should offer the Super Sport in bronze, too!

$120k?? I think you meant to say $135k + delivery, tax, license, and doc fees.
