A tri-motor Rivian could potentially perform a tank turn. While a quad-motor setup with independent control of each wheel is ideal for tank turns, a tri-motor system can achieve it by having the front wheels steer and the rear wheels spin in opposite directions.

If they offer good lease incentives on this I will be so sad. I caved and got a Tri Max (which is fucking awesome). But I caved mostly because I figured the lease price would be $600+ more, especially with the tax credit going away.

You just have to upgrade to the new version of the truck you already have to get this feature that was initially promised on your current one. NBD lol

I don't actually care much for tank turn but it's funny that they are showing it

Tri motor cannot do it. Just as the tri cannot ever be RWD only.

According to the SC, the rear motors in the tri are clutched and designed to slip slightly.

My logical brain says to ignore it and move on. My monkey brain is saying "want" and completely sold on it over the tri for the Gary badge alone.

Edit: Also hoping for more options with colors + interiors. I would love to do red with slate interior. Sounds weird but I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be into it.
