Just switched out my original Pirellis on Rivian R21 rims with these new Michelins. The Pirellis lasted 35K!

I was on BFG KO2s on third party wheels from Americas Tires for an addition 15K miles until this change . Back on the K02s next year when off-roading fun returns for me.

So far these Michelins are extremely quiet and smooth. Expect a lot more mileage with them. Note that they are ‘H’ rated for the R1T.

We’ll be posting efficiency numbers once I get a good long drive today. But so far they are comparable to the Pirellies. I’ll also test on max acceleration once I get to the desert :)

Yeah they’re great tires. I will say that I can spin the front tires on a launch with them though, so not quite as sticky as the Pirellis.

When that happens, it is a good indicator they have low rolling resistance. I bet they are more efficient if the stock tires did not spin, but the Michelins do. You could see a measurable increase - 5% or more.

I just replaced my Pirelli "screamer" Scorpions with the Michelin LTX M/S2 after 14K miles. (I have the first version on my Kia EV6 GT-L and they have been awesome after 20K miles.)

I'm off to White Pocket in AZ to test them out. The "light truck" designation will provide the level of "bad road" endurance I will need. Update and photos in a couple weeks.

The Pirellis worked as intended with even tread wear so I saved them from the landfill. If anyone wants them, send me a DM and you can have them.

I'm getting mine installed after Thanksgiving. I will be at just over 37k on the Pirellis and they are still quite and grip very well. I got a ridiculous deal on the Michelins, but I know I will miss the traction and confidence of the Pirellis

Wish I had gotten these. My new set of Pirellis vibrate intermittently.

I assume you have the QM as well based on the model year. My QM spins the factory 21" Pirelli front tires on every hard launch. Maybe it is just our roads here in Texas.

I got lucky back in September, eBay had DT online store listing for $300 per tire. I asked my nearest DT store to price match it, and they did. That's how I ended up with the Michelins. Walmart has the Pirellis currently at $400 per tire.

Just got back from my ‘test run’ that I do often. When the R1T was new on the Pirellis I got home with 41 miles left. This time after 53K miles I have 29 miles left.
Now, I forgot to use cruise control for the whole trip - which helps on range/mileage - AND I went a bit faster than 2 years ago. Also it got down into to 40s in temp so that docked range a bit.

So using the Tesla data on battery range with mileage, I’d say my 3% drop is actually about a 3% gain in efficiency with the Michelins. Close to what others have noted. So the Michelins are much quieter, a little less grippy, more efficient, and less costly ($350 versus $450 at Americas Tire/Discount Tire/Tire Rack) than the

Last point, after driving on K02s for several months, I wouldn’t take these on serious off road adventures! :) They are heavy duty/weight street tires,

My Pirellis tire blew this morning. I’m hearing the Michelin 21’ tires are back ordered. My tire location is saying I won’t be able to get any until Mid December. others hearing the same?

Why did you switch to Michelins?
Cost one reason, perhaps? Can you share the cost delta?
You mentioned the Michelins are extremely quiet and smooth?
Can you somehow quantify that?
You seem to imply therefore that perhaps the Scorpions were maybe not extremely quiet and smooth, or perhaps less so.

In my experience, the Pirelli Scorpions have been comfortable. As for smooth, well, they have not been any different from the ride feel with my Teslas, which have Pirellis and Michelins. Also, other things remaining the same, the type of road bed contributes a great deal to the noise I hear, the awful chip seal type the worst for noise. Less noisy with the Michelins, say you?

I would appreciate your comments. I replace my tires at the end of 6 years regardless of wear. It is good to have at least one more 21 in. tire to compare. Thank you .

$400 less per set says a lot. Michelins are reported (and my experience) to last longer than the 35K miles I got with my original Pirellis.

they are quieter than Pirellis but Pirellis were quiet too. Compare to K02s!!!

if I waited for six years to replace mine I’d be driving on the disk brake rotors by then :). But I admit I drive a lot.

Please give us an update on your run to White Pocket. Been there in the Jeep, but was nervious about taking the R1T thru that deep soft sand.
