I used “All Purpose” the whole way. Anything else would be overkill.Nice! Been meaning to do that whenever my R1S is finally fixed.
What drive mode did you use on the way down? Off-Road all terrain or did you use rock crawl?
Was the regen enough to prevent break overheating? That was my only concern since it’s so steep.
Very nice. Especially the image of you taking the image on the center screen. Nice detail to the composition!
Is this a new feature that means that you can still control your Rivian with one-pedal driving even after the regen overload warning? I get the warning quite frequently in the hilly terrain in northeastern PA and so far at least, I need to use the brakes to slow my R1T after the warning pops up.Note, by default Rivian will now use real brakes even in regen mode, if the regen is overloaded.
Amazing photo - Thank you! And the fish-eye view from the front camera really reinforces the "top of the world" feeling. If someone dropped a smoke bomb in that road crack at the end of your video I bet the mountain would clear out in a hurry!I don't remember seeing any warnings about region overload on the way down. Here's a short video from the front drive cam as we started down.
Kona to Mauna Kea was -171 miles of range.I can say with confidence and first-hand experience that riding your gravel bike up that mountain is the hardest thing I've ever nearly done (and failed at). Crapped out at just under 12k' and came back down.
Next time, I'll drive. lol
How much battery did you use from Kona to the summit?
When my R1S is repaired, maybe we can take the R1 Mauna Kea Access road one day:
Just let me know when! When my R1S is repaired, maybe we can take the R1 Mauna Kea Access road one day:

We should also re-create this photo of my Cherokee with our Rivians. It's stunning up there:
