My Cruz control refuses to work unless I get serviced. I did not know I needed any service, I was in the shop couple months ago, all was fine. No issues, is there a reset button?

There are two Restart procedures that can be found in the Owner's Manual. I suggest the Vehicle Restart.

Great work Forums Members. That's what this forum is all about. This forum does more to correct issues than Rivian does.

People have to remember that the R1T and S are rolling computers. When my computer starts acting up, I turn it off and then back on....99% of the time it fixes the issue.
The 2 times I have done a soft and hard reset on issues, it fixed all but the 12v battery issue. I made an appointment, 2 days later a mobile tech came to our house, and replaced the battery, and has been perfect since.

Those are the 2 golden rules to fix computers:
  1. restart/reboot
  2. RTFM

I had my 12vdc batteries replaced by Jesus, (the Tech), early in the game and have had minimal geeky issues. I agree with you, these vehicles are "emotional". It seems like a moving target, but the OS is what is moving, not the target!

Sounds like a vehicle sleep cycle fixed it then, very common for these sorts of issue. Likely a hard reset would have also done the job.

In my experience with these you should just take note, if they happen a few times then contact service.

There seems to be an issue where cruise control stops working and displays that message if you, A) unbuckle your seatbelt while using it or B) lift up off your seat while using it. It won’t work again until you start a new drive cycle, meaning turn the car off, get out and start again, or a hard reset would probably do it. I was told it’s a “safety issue” but they couldn’t explain why the “service vehicle” message comes up.

I should keep a data log, my memory is mulch..
But it is learnable that soft resets and "sleep on it" can heal the tweaks.

Ah Ha, I have experienced the seat belt issue before. Everything is connected thru the central scrutinizer! (Zappa).
