A couple of problems. The biggest is it's years away. In dog years that's new pet time. Nobody has driven them, maybe they're not drivable, so all we can go by is looks and hype. It's cute and great and wonderful. And. Now the competition knows exactly what to expect and has years to copy it. And even make it better and bring it out faster. It's a lost opportunity because all the hype, which is good, can't pay off, which is bad. I wonder if showing ALL the cards this early was good strategy. Mostly I'm just bummed because I can't buy one.

That is true, just I don't like the "pet time" comment as pets are more valuable than some people.
Battery tech may be much better by the time it is released.

He needs to clarify the charging. It will only charge at NACS enabled Superchargers, you will not have access to all Superchargers.

Unless of course by 2027 most of the non-NACS Supercharger stations have been upgraded.

Sandy “cheapening” Munro is alive and doing well (for himself) as a Rivian Co. consultant. When the R3 rolls out, let’s hope Rivian leadership doesn’t let the shill “cheapen” it to the level of a 1980 Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon….

Yeah, was painful hearing things like "the R T One" and "North America Charging System"

They have already said the R2 port is moving to driver side rear, pretty sure they will move the port on R3 as well.

I watched Sandy Munro's video with great interest. The R3 will be a big hit for Rivian as it is in the slot and price range that America wants and needs. They should have made it the R2 and gotten it out next.

Fortunately for Rivian, most who will buy the R3 are not old enough to remember the Plymouth Horizon and Dodge Omni. The R3 is a styling twin to these vehicles of almost fifty years ago. The R3 is kind of like a time machine that immediately returns you to 1978. The R3 is not a bad looking car, but its resemblance to the Omni and Horizon is almost creepy. If you were to put chrome bumpers on the R3 and offer it in old man blue, you have an electrically powered Plymouth Horizon.
