R1S TIP: Easy and safe method for 120v AC extension cord pass-thru outside vehicle

So yesterday in the R1S Enthusiasts group on Facebook I posted asking for tips on getting an AC power cord routed out of the R1S from either of the 120v outlets- with all doors and windows closed. I had been thinking about this since our last power outage when I powered our fridge with an extension cord through a passenger window and wished there was a better way. I didn't feel comfortable with smashing a heavy duty extension cord in a closed door. It would be nice if there was a good way to do that when camping or powering anything while also keeping the cabin comfy and dry. Routing through a window or leaving the rear hatch open isn't very convenient for all scenarios and weather conditions.

Then someone shared this video with an easy solution that I never knew about!

Yep, the fact that it's only 12 Amps means you don't need a super heavy duty cable. I keep a flat cable in my R1T to be able to close the tonneau on the cord.

This is brilliant! As I look at the upcoming camping season I was starting to get more and more frustrated with Rivian because they didn't put an external outlet on the R1S (I know - true "first world" problem). Now - I don't know where they would have put it (behind the hitch cover?), just that I want it. Seeing this makes me very happy! I'll probably order one of the flat cords suggested by others.

Technically, the plug side is "indoors". If it doesn't get wet, I wouldn't worry about the socket side.
