my initial reaction on thursday when seeing R3 was a bit perplexed, but watching vids and seeing more pics now has me enamored with R3X. pending specs and price, i may sell my S for it while my wife is moving from an outback to R2 in 2026.

When I was 18 I stayed up at nights watching Group B Rally races on ESPN in the 80’s dreaming of driving one those crazy things. Well, here is the 2024 Interpretation of that. I’m all over this on release. This is my ‘57 Chevy equivalent reference for the earlier Boomers. The same names of Audi, Lancia Delta, Ford and Renault 5 repeated over and over are forever etched into my brain Watching them blast around catastrophically dangerous paths and crowds will never be seen again.

Audi and Lancia were NOT the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the design, but rather it was the 1970s Chevy Vega Kammback. It's not as sexy as the Road and track examples but, they nailed it! It too eventually got a rear spoiler and wiper.

It’s pretty great to see that even Chevy Bolt owners are super excited about the R3. I got a Bolt EUV for my daughter 6 months ago but would have gone for the R3 if it were available…

I was thinking more like the Audi A3 Sportback. I had a 2007 Sportback and I immediately thought of it when I saw the R3.

Someone at Rivian should fess up and admit it's an AMC Eagle copy. They didn't need the space for the engine or petrol tank so just shortened it a bit.

As you wish. As a matter of fact, The Irvine, CA Police did request one for a patrol vehicle but Rivian turned them down.
