My OEM 22” pirellis were worn by 21k miles.
Got Conitinental terrain contact A/T 275/50R22 through simpletire (and installed at Firestone)
chose these based on nearly the same load capacity as OEM, deeper tread (12/32 vs 7/32) and 60K mileage warranty
was a little worried about impact on efficiency given added weight of the tire (43lbs vs 37 lbs) and more aggressive tread pattern.
I drove the same commute the week before and after changing tires. Over 80 miles of a 50:50 mix of city and highway driving my efficiency was actually better with the Continentals. (2.07 vs 2.04 mi/kWh)
This is obviously negligible, but I expected a moderate decrease in efficiency. The only other variable was weather, was colder (39F) in the Pirelli day and 48F on the Continental day
FWIW cabin noise is only marginally louder, I doubt I’d have noticed the difference unless I was looking for it.
