One of things I miss the most about my Mach-e was the Google Maps integration. In that case, it is Android Auto with Google Maps integrated with the car so that Maps can predict the charge at destination. It is highly accurate and even starts the preconditioning process as you get close to a charger destination.

I hope this is released soon as it looks better in some ways over the Ford AA approach.

This should be more like the GM approach (also Volvo and Polestar). In my Hummer I can log into my Google account, send trips right from the Google maps on the phone, etc. The Google trip planning is very accurate and it has all the latest chargers available, much better than Rivian or Ford, which really lag on new charger installations.

Also, with the GM integration, map updates occur independent of OTAs and you can download offline maps as well.

Just got the Android update...2nd time getting the update minutes from iOS....I love to see the equity they maintain between Android and iOS users.

You've been able to do this with Rivian for over a year as well and, as a bonus, you don't even need to be logged in to a Google account. And you can do it from any app...

Are you able to report speed traps and road hazards? I do that a lot.

Yes, I can do that from Google maps in the vehicle.

With GM and some other car makers you can even download apps like Waze, Plugshare, ABRP, etc. and use them directly. I doubt if Rivian will ever go that far. I quit using Waze, once Google maps added that same functionality, I think it was about a year ago.

I just want to be able to select a location on the map after navigating to it (not searching for it). Seems like a simple thing but the Rivian NAV would just put a pin there and sometimes would be the wrong location.
