I wonder what power train the Rivian was and if any special tuning was done. The number two Ford Van was specifically built for this. Kind of a surprise and actually kind of cool that Ford is racing EVs. Racing always leads to better products. I would love to see Rivian complete in more races and challenges.

It’s Pikes Peak. It’s a hugely popular hill climb race that usually dominated by extreme hot hatches.

It's a race up the road to the top of Pikes Peak (one of the highest peaks in Colorado). Mostly a race of switchbacks, but throw in severely reduced oxygen to feed ICE engines and severely reduced down force.

I will await the official results, but for a first time competitor in a stock production vehicle (minus some seats) i think he took the record for pickup truck... previous record was 11:24 in 2020 (1400hp diesel 1949 pickup that clearly not stock)
