  1. Seized rear calipers - Rivian stuck me with the bill

No need for apologies, I'm sure that all but greenhorns like me knew what you meant. And sorry to be an even bigger newbie PITA, but can you point me to where brake assist is in menu?
  2. Scheduled my R1T Power Tonneau Cover post delivery install

I just picked up my R1T yesterday, and though I was able to schedule service for some small panel misalignments, I was not able to schedule the PTC install. Interestingly, though Trenton is relatively close by (~50 miles), the only two service locations I was offered were Brooklyn (129 miles...
  3. Seized rear calipers - Rivian stuck me with the bill

Please excuse the rather naive question, but where in the menu is regen off? I just picked up my R1T yesterday and in my brief experience, have only seen standard and high as regen settings, with a low regen feature that can be enabled in Snow mode.
  4. Inspection in SE PA.

Timely thread. I just picked up my R1T yesterday in Mahwah, NJ and didn't give the need for PA inspection a thought. It looks like the first step is to get a jack puck, and then look for someplace local (I'm in Delco) to do the inspection. I will start at my local shop, who are very competent...
  5. Today's the day (or maybe tomorrow)!!!

Hope your delivery went well yesterday @Laserboy1054; mine certainly did. The entire process at Mahwah, NJ (actually an interim delivery/service location) went very smoothly. The Senior Field Guide who handled my delivery was very knowledgeable and couldn't have been nicer. The fit and finish...
  6. Today's the day (or maybe tomorrow)!!!

Congrats. I did a First Mile ride out of the Richmond SC quite some time ago, and it was a very positive experience. Hopefully it will be the same for your delivery. And great that you adopted a dog. My daughter has two white Shepards, both adopted, and my wife and I adopted two dogs over the...
  7. Powered tonneau at delivery

Nope, 2024, VIN year designator R, serial 31,XXX. As I wrote above, I'd be happy NOT to have the tonneau but the truck is from the Shop, and so was speced by Rivian:
  8. Powered tonneau at delivery

Ironically, I am indifferent to the tonneau cover but the R1T is coming from the R1 Shop, so there is no way to change any part of the configuration. Now that some time has passed and I've been able to process the messaging from Rivian, I have to say that I'm less than happy with the way this...
  9. Beat Rivian to the punch : Kia kicks off EV9 production in Georgia, making history as the first EV assembled in the state

Kia does a great job with their vehicles and seems to have a winner on their hands with the EV9. Their biggest drawback is the Kia dealer network, which ranges from sub-par to abysmal.
  10. Powered tonneau at delivery

My R1T delivery is scheduled for this coming Tuesday. Late Friday, the delivery center texted me and said that even though the vehicle is configured with a power tonneau cover, it will not be on the truck as delivered. That's not really much of a shocker, but surely Rivian was aware of the...
  11. EV use can be more expensive than gas

If we use the rough average of the cost of gasoline nationwide, about $3.60/gal, and assume that a typical ICE vehicle (SUV/pickup) gets 15 mpg, the cost per mile driven is $0.24. From what I've read and seen posted in this and other Rivian forums, the kWh cost at some public chargers can make...
  12. Swap out - or not?

Thanks again to all for the suggestions and advice. After deliberation, I think I'm going to stick with the OEM Scorpion's until they become too noisy or worn, then replace with AS's.
  13. EVSE recommendations sought

Update: While I was leaning toward the Grizzl-E, after some additional research, I decided to order the Emporia. Bth units get good reviews, but I plan to hardwire the EVSE, and the Emporia has the edge in that as wiring can be connected directly to the bus. The power connection in the...
  14. Newbie Ordering Questions

I'm going through the purchase process right now, but it's a bit different in my case as I'm an early pre-order holder, and have had a deposit in place for years. Vehicles in the Shop are already built and you can't change their configuration. I believe that usually extends to adding things...
  15. EVSE recommendations sought

Thanks for the responses. I'm leaning toward the Grizzl-E Classic. Attractive price, seems to be well-regarded and made in North America. The Tesla charger probably gets the best reviews and obviously more than a few folks on this forum have had good success with it. The price is a bit of a...
  16. EVSE recommendations sought

One important step I need to take before my R1T is delivered is setting up charging at my house. It seems to makes sense to go with an EVSE rather than a simple 14-50 receptacle, and I think I'll be fine with 40 amps. There are any number of choices in EVSE's and quite a few of the lower-priced...
  17. Swap out - or not?

It looks like the policy varies from Costco to Costco and more than a few folks seem to have success getting Costco to install the 275/60R20 tires on their Rivian. I asked in person at the two Costco's I frequent and was told at each that they were not allowed to deviate from what their computer...
  18. Swap out - or not?

I actually wanted to go with the 60 series since those tires are not only less expensive but also close to the 21" wheel/tire combination and should give better range. When I contacted my local big box retailers however, I was told they will not mount them because they differ from the factory 65...
  19. Swap out - or not?

I'm a few weeks out from delivery of my R1T with 20" dark wheels. I do very little off-roading and would rather have All Season rather than AT tires, to potentially gain some range and lower the road noise. My original thought was to swap the Scorpions as soon as possible after delivery for...
  20. Prices lowered on R1T and R1S inventory (5/23/24)

It should be on your account page, but I think Rivian is working through a flood of new confirmations, largely due to the discounts, and is behind. I ordered on 5/22 and don't yet have a delivery date either:
