Thanks. Yes this particular science has always been a mystery to me.
I suppose what I mean (sticking w/ the ice cube tray) is that one completely full cube/cell and one completely empty cube/cell is worse for the health of the cells than each cube/cell being at 50%.
The reason I started...
So when we say "balancing" do we mean cells are slightly out of balance or materially out of balance?
Is the lack of time to rebalance when DCFCing part of the reason DCFC is hard on batteries?
Thanks for responses. Interesting.
So consensus (if there is one) is we don't know exactly how Rivian configured but we imagine they are largely charging in parallel across packs and the cells within each pack are also parallel. IE, all cells are at same state of charge or will be in short...
Might be a dumb question but wanted to understand how cells and packs were charged and discharged. I presume long term battery health is determined on a cell by cell basis.
When you charge the truck to 70% is it charging all 7776 cells up to 70% and then discharging all of them in same...
Same. Bought a 2023 T from a dealer in Texas. FG/OC w 3k miles back in September for 79k with no dealer fees and $500 ship it to South Florida. They bought my trade-in. Glad I went dealer as private parties were being squirrelly and unreliable.
Never saw it before it arrived and had never...
Not a ton in South Florida but this weekend I noticed 5 on a trip to and around Costco. Four of which had temporary tags. Year end push.....hoping they pull off 60k deliveries this year.
Just my general opinion on warranties, not extremely well informed on semi-luxury auto warranties, but these are usually priced aggressively....I imagine most (not all) buyers can afford a repair or to exit the vehicle. A lot of these products are borderline predatory IMO.
I insure what I...
I don't know. I am sometimes in hold position for 5 mins at a light where I am getting obviously 0.0 real world efficiency. Yet my 15 min meter reflect none of that and sort of just stays in the green.
It's that phenomenon which prompted me to start the thread. Not counting time in...
Ive got a 2TB solid state drive and have easy access to charging every night. I let it record absolutely everything.
I have never reviewed a video and I don't know why I would until the truck is damaged and I want to figure out how.
Set it and forget until you need it.
Ok, that nonsense just goes to show I was over thinking it. I'll just think of everything as somewhat informative but also error prone and not scientific
I should have said my guess at Range Impact is narrow green means if15 min efficiency is maintained that you would get a few more miles that the range estimate. Thicker = more profound. Inverse for blue.
Still no guess at what thick gray means.
I know the efficiency and range stats are a bit of a mystery. I wonder how many of below are known or strongly suspected
1. Is the remaining range impacted by your personal driving habits (ie. Average efficiency)? or battery health (ie, will the range decline over time)? Or is it only impacted...
I was reading the other thread about a impact with a bike rack involved.
As described above I have the superbumper installed. I wish I could read more deeply about frame strength and such.
The superbumper is mostly marketed as a way to prevent whiplash.
Putting aside the merits of that...
Thanks for all the help here. I called back said the first invoice was absurd. Got a new one a couple of minutes later for half.
I think the first rep managed to add 2 windshields to my "cart". Now right in line with what you paid.
Thanks again, very helpful.
Thanks for all the advice.
I called and set it up for early Jan. Was hoping for better. I asked the guy how much and he said $1600ish plus tax which is close to yours.
However I later received my estimate over email and it said $3600. Did you get a crazy high estimate too?
