  1. Charging door not opening via touch

Happened to me a few days ago. Soft reset solved the issue.
  2. The good, the bad, the ugly - 2,600 mile round trip Denver to Michigan in the R1T

Thanks for the write up @Aag12. I just completed a 3,000 mile road trip on the Eastern seaboard. Temps ranged from 20-30F going up north, and 40+ F on the way back. I have 20AT stock tires. Wind noise was not noticeable and a lot more quiet than my Model Y, which suffers from atrocious wind...
  3. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

Nope. The only message I get from EA is the tell me my account was was replenished after I charge.
  4. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

I used A Better Route Planner to map out the charging stops, and Plugshare to check the latest user feedback on availability/speeds of the stations.
  5. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

Thanks. Good to know that. Will keep checking on the way back home to see if it is fixed.
  6. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

Actually EA billing sucks. There is no record of any of my transactions in the App. I have to check my credit card to see the bills.
  7. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

I got two free charging sessions and paid a total $150 for the other 7 stops. So averaged $21 per charge. I typically charged from 30 to 80% each time.
  8. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

I changed chargers twice, to see if I would get better speeds. It worked once when I got a much better speed. I am planning a call to EA before I head back home to ask them about the slow charging. I am sure they will blame it on cold temps. I averaged 1.95 m/kWh.
  9. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

Yes. I have the EA pass. Took me a while to figure out how to use EA. But its easy. 1) Open the App. Pull up the station where you are charging 2) Plug in the charger to car. 3) Select and swipe the charger number to connect. Sometimes it connects and begins charging without step number 3...
  10. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

Base camp is in Brooklyn NY. Taking the kids to Hunter Mountain which should be a 3 hour drive from the city with one charging stop in Newburgh.
  11. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

Agreed. It just takes a bit more prep. But it’s fun, and my girls are having a blast, even the extra hours did not affect them. Hopefully the trip back home will be smooth as well.
  12. Share Your Vehicle Name Here

Mine is Blue Saki. Named after the blue grey tanager of Guyana.
  13. 1,250 mile family trip from South Florida to NYC in R1T. Would absolutely do it again!

I just drove from South Florida on Boxing Day (Dec 26th) with my wife and 3 daughters, arriving in NYC late Tuesday afternoon. I spent hours anguishing about whether to take the Tesla or the R1T, and checked PlugShare to make sure none, of the CCS stations I need were totally out of service...
  14. PlugShare?

I use ABRP to figure out the number of charging stops, but as others have noted, its not up to date, so you see may not see all EA stations. i recently drove from Broward County to Atlanta and used EA primarily, all the way to ATL, with the exception of one FPL charging station in central...
  15. Why Rivian is far better than Tesla... and I hate Tesla

Let me say this. I love Tesla the car. I am on my second Tesla, a 22 MY. But I am also a black man, with two LBGTQ kids. Me and my family, and the millions of people like me are more than 10% who are trolled mercilessly by Elon on twitter and more than the 10% who are rationally angry for...
  16. ProClip Phone Mount Released For Rivian -- Angled & Center Dash Options

Yes, its strong. I have an iphone 14 Pro max and the magnet is strong enough for my phone. The problem is as mentioned above having to tape it to the dash.
  17. Guys, what do you think about this ?

I have brought home 6 Ft long 2x4 studs in my R1T. Just popped one end up on the tailgate (on a towel) and tied them down. Likewise with other stuff that’s longer than bed length.
  18. Service Center Visit Expectations For Sitting and/or Driving an R1T?

And why are the SC’s not directly accessible by phone? Smh. I get they don’t want the added expense of a receptionis at each SC, but its 2021, they can route the calls to multiple people at the SC and designate a couple of people to answer at any give time….geez. Thats not so hard to do. I hope...
  19. Service Center Visit Expectations For Sitting and/or Driving an R1T?

Good luck! I have been there twice for service. There is no door bell and they keep the door locked You have to go the left side of the building and bang on the glass window to get someone’s attention. It’s a beautiful shop though. The floors and lifts are spotless and there is a nice lounge...
