Would have been nice to hear they had included a heat pump to improve efficiency even more.
Bigger concern is the peak charge rate. It’s about the same as the R1 but we all know in the real world the R1 cannot maintain that speed for very long. I really hope a Rivian has improved thermal...
The only problem is those are the R1 side mirrors, not the current R2 mirrors so its not exactly accurate. That being said, it does look a pretty good combo with Glacier White.
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. No one knows but I'd guess its somewhere around 10-15K LE
4. Yes. Rivian has indicated they will produce between 20-25k R2 in 2026. If the Premium is available in late 2026, then some portion of the 20-25K is non-LE which by rough estimate might be 5-10K
5. Rivian had over 200K...
Based on the Hilux. I know the Hilux is very popular worldwide but its a lot more than the ICE version. Not impressed at the price and specs but what do you think?

Not an April Fools joke, is it?
Did the same with my LE R1T. It was bittersweet. I was concerned about the post warranty costs as my vehicle when into service 10 times in 2.5 years.
I also have an R2 reservation. I'm hoping to snag the LE but looking at leasing. If the deals are good, I'll go for a 2-3 year lease and then...
I see this as a move to prepare for the influx of R2 vehicles. By changing this policy, they will reduce the number of loaners and rentals having to go out. Which long term is probably a good thing for them and seemed inevitable. I'm wondering though for those appointments that take longer than...
Loaners are based on availability. If there's one available they typically let customers have them, at least that's been my experience. That being said, I'd say half my service visits have been loaners, half have been enterprise rentals. It goes without saying, I prefer a loaner.
When I bring...
Might just do the Esker Silver since there appears to be a low take number here. Was kinda the same with LA Silver.
I will be surprised if the colors purchased line up with this poll. People often say they want bold colors but then get grey, white, silver. It also depends on how much they...
Didn't the higher residual value end up letting your monthly payments be lower? So you got the benefit up front but you can't have it both ways and wish for a lower residual later, no? Sorry I'm not a lease expert but that's how I thought it worked?
Can you share the actual numbers? What your...
There are definitely employees here and on Reddit. They've posted before. When the R1 initially released to employees, though they didn't post/comment much, they were out there.
Its a nice to have on a vehicle like this but won't be a deal breaker for 99% of people.
There are grab handles above the doors on the R1T and R1S but they are basically useless to help you get into the vehicle. A little more useful to use when getting out. Running boards are fair more useful...
Surprised but not unexpected. It was clear from Autonomy Day in Dec that this is where Rivian was headed. The reason I'm surprised is its pretty ambitious goals in a short amount of time.
Many of the existing robotaxi companies have taken a long time to get where they are. Rivian has an...
You guys planning running boards for the R2? I hope so.
With a ground clearance of 9.6 inches, that's an inch higher than the R1S in kneel mode, which isn't easy to get in and out of for smaller people.
Based on the reliability/cost of the R1 line, not so sure. Of course we have no idea how reliable the R2 is but it'll surely be less costly to repair/maintain since its simpler mechanically.
It also depends on the warranty. A lightly used R1 may have a longer warranty period than an R2 but if...
