20s all day.
Like you said, way more options - and that matters for long term cost of ownership and flexibility. There's a lot of R1 owners with 21s who wish they had gotten the 20s or 22s instead.
BTW, o one here has experience with the 20s vs 21s on the R2. Check back in 4-5 months once...
Have the same issue. I've asked Rivian to investigate and recalibrate but they said its within operating parameters and there was nothing to fix. I have no hard data to back this but I think it could be related to the issue of the camera being slightly off center the vehicle. Its also using...
I just learned that Rivian switched its battery chemistry (non-LFP) from NMC to NCA? Did anyone else know this? I recall them mentioning a change in packaging some time ago that helped improve range but had no idea it was more than that. Does the higher energy density explain the performance...
There are trade offs for any platform: EV, ICE, hybrid, plugin hybrid, EREV.
EREVs are a growing segment in China, so they’ve shown it can work and it popular, and are a great option in more rural locations or where charging infrastructure is limited. That’s the use case for me, extended road...
They didn’t put lockers in the R1 so there was little to no expectation it would be in the R2. The quad motors were designed to provide power/torque at each wheel. In certain scenarios this is superior to lockers but in others mechanical lockers win. The R2 is not built as a true offroader so no...
Since there is already another block party scheduled for those dates in Miami, that’s means the vehicles will need to be split across two locations or they have more vehicles ready for show and tell.
Did you ask or check to see if any of the R2 had a built in air compressor? I'm assuming no since not a single person who has seen the vehicle has mentioned it. Bit of a shame since its supposed to be an offroad vehicle.
Totally agree. People are too hung up on range. Sure 350 is better than 250 but for daily driving range is irrelevant. And when you need to drive any significant distance, charge speed, and specifically sustained peak charge speed, is more important than range because you almost never charge to...
