Hate to break it to current R1 owners who reserved day one but you're going to get passed up by non-owners. Looks like no one else here noticed the statement:
"Current Rivian owners will receive accelerated delivery timing, balanced alongside deliveries to non-owners to keep the line moving for...
Ice/Snow is one thing but that eventually melts. I think the bigger issue are leaves, dirt, debris, etc getting in there and either blocking drainage or blocking the wiper itself. In the PNW, with all the growth, moss and moisture, there's definitely going to be stuff that gets in there and/or...
Unfortunately Rivian does not get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to audio because they have tweaked and fiddled with R1 audio via OTA for 3 years with mixed/mediocre results. Meridian was amazing out of the gate because Meridian knows whats it’s doing.
Rivian might be learning but...
Guess the crossbars aren't the only thing not compatible between the R1 and R2. Looks like were going to need jack pucks unique to this design. Strange choice.
Its a little more than just adding the Lidar. Rivian also has to install the Rivian Autonomy Platform (RAP). If its as easy as plug and play then manufacturing will be straight forward, but I suspect it might be more complicated. And between when customer deliveries start and they are ready to...
I highly recommend The Emporia Level 2 charger. Its rock solid. It hasn't failed even once to charge my R1T Quad.
When I bought it in 2023 it was the least expensive UL-certified charger out there. I would not get a non-UL certified product. The mobile app has tons of details and features as...
Might be great for hot climates like Arizona/Nevada if it blocks visible light but any data on how much heat it blocks?
Also interested in the difference it makes in audio. We all know the sound system in the R1 (non-Meridian) is mediocre at best.
While your post could use some editing to fix the grammar I understand your sentiment.
I too am concerned about Rivian service once the R2 starts hitting large production numbers. A lot of service centers are already backed up, it’ll only get worse with the R2. You’re kidding yourself if you...
From what I’ve heard it’s not the mounting points that don’t make it compatible, it’s the width of the vehicles. Even when you contract the R1 crossbars to its min, it’s still too wide to fit on the R2.
And yes previously they were saying it would be compatible. Which is odd, either nobody...
You really think Elmo is going to do that? I doubt it. He misleads, deceives and outright lies about a lot of things to inflate stock prices and sales. Over 18% of CT sales in Q4 2025 were to Spacex.
There is no way Tesla is going to spend all that money to build microfactories, pay for all the...
I can see that logic but once you've experienced eyes off, its pretty compelling and hard to go back to hands off, eyes on. Basically like riding in a Waymo but having to be in the drivers seat in case the vehicle needs you to take control.
R2 without LiDAR will not support eyes off.
These are absolutely employee vehicles. We have yet to see any R2 vehicles on the road that do not have manufacturer plates. Looks like we finally will now.
Although May the 4th would be a cool date to announce deliveries for real customer based on the Star Wars wraps we saw, I doubt that will...
