My exact configuration is in the store, except it has 20 inch AT wheels and tires; I want 22 inch so I can get snow tires and longer range. Does anyone know whether Rivian would swap wheels and tires? I'm ready to do a cash sale immediately.
Thanks Cohall, good to hear. Our travel is on 285, and there’s charging in FairPlay, about 10 miles before where we park in winter. That charging station has been a bit flakey but pretty reliable the past few weeks. I’m at the hemming and hawing stage but I might just go for it. Have to persuade...
I know that under the Inflation Reduction Act, you can only get one tax credit every three years. Was that true pre-IRA? I got a credit on my 2022 return for a Volvo XC40 Recharge purchased 5/2021. Since I ordered my Rivian in Jan. 2022, and have a binding purchase agreement, can I get another...
We snowshoe because there are places where snow is 3-4 feet deep on the remote road. Six months of the year. And no electricity; our cabin is off-grid solar.
My situation: Have a pre-order on an R1S, quad motor, large pack, El Cap Granite. Pre-ordered before the price increase, eligible for both the $7,500 federal tax credit and a $5,000 Colorado tax credit. I don't think the R1S is for me, given what I'd be using it for and given winter range loss...
Thanks for that suggestion. Might work. We are pretty remote. Closest neighbors on a road that's plowed are Doomsday Preppers (had to capitalize that because it kept auto-correcting to doomsday prepares.)
Thanks to everyone for the advice and information. My original inclination to bail seems like the most advisable route. Maybe the R2S will have better stuff for this kind of situation.
Looking for advice from experienced owners, particularly in cold climates. I've got an RS1 on order, and took the test drive yesterday. Of course I liked it a lot. Here's my dilemma. This would be our going-to-our-mountain-place-in-Colorado-vehicle, replacing a 2007 4Runner. Round trip 180...
Volvo xc40 Recharge owner reports leaving car for 6 weeks and lost just 1%. https://www.xc40forum.com/threads/good-news-xc40-garaged-for-6-weeks-and-works-fine.5869/
Absolutely. Plus -- and this is obviously not a software update -- but a heat pump should be an option to help out with what appears from this forum to be major range reduction in cold weather. The efficiency/vampire drain issues are giving me serious second thoughts about purchasing a Rivian.
Thanks to
Thanks to Andystroh for his informative report from Colorado, my home state. Along with other posts about winter range loss and vampire losses (in the range of 5 percent per day left outside), I'm getting increasingly concerned, and could use some advice. My situation: 1/22 R1S order...
