Yes, I had that problem and found out by accident when I lost my house keys and fob last summer. Actually in my case, both the internal and external NFC readers in the door had failed and needed to be replaced.
Pretty much everything in the Gear Shop is overpriced, but at this point, I wonder what they sell vs. end up giving away for free via referral credits.
I'm on my 2nd SnapPlate only because the Gen1 version doesn't attach to Gen2 correctly. Needed some adjustment for initial installation, but other than that they're solid.
I would say that G2 is snappier than my G1 most of the time, but I've seen the same input delays with G2 that were present in my G1. Tapping between music and drive modes is consistently 2-3 second delay.
Looking forward to learning more about this solution, very curious about how it's hooked into the screen and whether or not this can be disabled via software update.
Forgot to mention the headlights! They work great but they did get confused in some of the heavier rain, and I got the "Auto high beams unavailable" warning a few times. Outside of that they've been solid.
I found the Driver+ on my 2022 R1T to be pretty uninspiring, moderately better than Eyesight on the Subaru that it replaced but not great and I rarely used it. Upon moving to the Gen2 R1S I've found it pretty good. I drove a shade over 2000 miles RT over the holidays and used Driver+ for about...
I see that somewhat frequently when the trucks been parked for a while, but usually, driving around for a minute or two will clear it up. Wish there was a reset option that just killed whatever processes are running Apple Music vs rebooting the whole thing.
I'm a month in on the Gen2 R1S, and so far, the heat pump definitely seems to be better than the Gen1 heater. Now if only they would get the climate schedule working so I don't freeze when I forget to pre-heat in the mornings.
The worst I've seen with the 2022 R1T was just above 1.0 miles/KWh but that was on a very cold morning ~20 degrees in Ashland and driving up and over Mt. Ashland/Siskiyous where it was even colder and down into California.
Curious to see how that compares with the Gen2 next week, I've been...
The portable charger was in the frunk at delivery when I traded in my Gen1 a few weeks back. The NAC's adapter came in the mail about a week later though I already have one so that wasn't really a concern.
More annoyed that basic accessories like all-weather mats seem to take forever from...
I forgot to turn the heat on this morning (Gen2) and once again cursed the lack of climate scheduling. Really hope that shows up ASAP. The Apple Wallet and Watch app would also be great to have, though tapping the phone on the door handle to unlock is a pretty handy shortcut in the meantime.
The Gen1 vehicles have a climate schedule so you can tell the truck to heat/cool turn on sest heaters etc.. for a departure time from your home location.
Gen2 doesn't have this yet, I really miss it having moves to Gen2 a couple weeks ago. In the near term I just use the app to wake it up and...
Any connectivity issues (LTE, WiFi)? The only time I had a problem with a hard reset, it turned out the TCM module had failed, and for reasons I can't recall, the R1 wasn't able to run a full reset if LTE/GPS was not functional.
I just moved from Gen1 to Gen2, and the audio is not nearly as good as the Meridian system was. It's improved a bit with tweaking the EQ and moving the sound stage/focal point closer to the 2nd row but still sounds like someone is holding towels over the speakers most of the time. Really hope...
It was there for sure in the Gen1, everything was warmed up and ready by 7:15 every morning but the Gen2 R1S doesn't have those options in the app, or maybe they moved somewhere else. Really hope they come back, it sucks getting into an ice cube if I forget to turn the heat on before we head...
