Good call out. R2 and R3 have the potential to be a huge success for sales and revenue, but if the service situation isn't significantly improved, they'll just be dropping another 50-100K vehicles with potential issues on top of a service network that's already struggling to keep up.
I don't...
I'm sorry this is happening. I've not had so many issues service-wise, but things like this start making me nervous, especially as I continue creeping toward the end of warranty coverage.
If they have a really good trade-in deal for gen1 I might consider it but there would have to be a pretty decent discount and trade-in value to make it worth taking on a car payment again. The problem I have is trying to decide if I would want to keep the R1T or go to an R1S.
My original fob battery lasted ~14 months, I bought a replacement from Amazon that lasted maybe two weeks. I'm not sure if it was a bad battery or some other issue. Replaced again and it's been fine for 7-8 months now.
I would test the card every now and then as well. I was relying on mine as a backup then lost my keys and discovered that the reader in the door had stopped working. Mobile service replaced it but it's still having issues so now I'm waiting on a SC appointment.
Wonder if tagged a sensor somehow, that damage looks insignificant. Have you posted this in the Reddit group? Some Rivian folks hang out in there, may be able to get some traction on a response.
I got this one from Best EV Mod

Works well, and locks into place, I would say the only annoyance is having to unlock it from the settings screen for access. Somewhat of a minor issue, but I would probably use it a bit more...
I've been through multiple hammocks - the first one went in the trash at a rest stop after an uncontrolled explosive incident.. The second one worked okay, the stitching failed quickly but, I didn't really have a lot of options due to the need for urgent replacement following said explosive...
Yes, found out the hard way when my wallet, keycard and fob+house keys were all lost off the back of the truck this summer. Luckily all were recovered but I'd already canceled all the cards by that point. I had one extra keycard but after a bunch of troubleshooting support figured out that my...
The new kitchen was nice, they had it at the Seattle event last month, but $1400 is just insane. An induction burner is under $100, lights maybe $20 and a cutting board and something to hold a few utensils for another $30. On top of that the guy demoing it said it was around 50 lbs. Maybe...
Took the words right out of my mouth, I kind of like Lucid, looks like they would be a comfy ride, especially for long-distance but there's no way I would want kids or pets in there without covering the entire interior in canvas.
The Rivian app route planner works pretty well for this purpose, just filters to hide any charging stations that are incompatible or require an adapter. Plan out your trip, be sure to update the charge % you'll be starting with, it defaults to the current vehicle charge level when you create...
I took delivery June 1, 2022 and still nothing since the initial email. It sounds like they're still working through April and May 2022 deliveries as quickly as they can whenever Tesla provides the adaptors. In the meantime, the A2Z I ordered a couple of weeks ago arrives tomorrow so I'll have...
I like this kitchen more than the full slide-out option, but they told me it weighs 50 lbs which seems excessive. I'll wait and see the price, but for now, I'm not sure why this would be better than buying an induction burner for tailgate cooking.
This poll needs a maybe. My R1T had early pricing and is paid for so the idea of taking on a car payment for relatively minor gains isn't super appealing but if the offer were good enough I'd consider it.
A couple years into Rivian camping I'm more interested in the tailgate option than one that takes up the gear tunnel space. That said I bought an induction burner that plugs in and I already have a cutting board and whatnot so not sure I need to spend money on a dedicated setup. For the right...

I wonder how this would impact Rivian's choice of an onboard assistant if Amazon starts charging monthly for access to Alexa.
