  1. Rivian Autonomy & AI Day! Lidar, Hands-Free Driving, Rivian Assistant & more announced

Beyond the text messaging, I haven't seen anything demonstrated with the AI Assistant that makes me think I would use it. They showed off some cool party tricks I guess, but on the whole there wasn't anything demonstrated that made me think "wow could use that".
  2. Looking to travel from Central Valley California up thru Canada

I've not been up I-80 with my Rivian in the winter, but yeah, that looks pretty gnarly at times and I think they are pretty strict about chains and/or snow tires. Good luck! The I-5 grind isn't super exciting but very doable and getting much easier as the volume and reliability of charging...
  3. Looking to travel from Central Valley California up thru Canada

I do this drive multiple times a year, well most of it. I live in Seattle but we have an orchard down by Lodi. The only place you really need to worry about is Siskiyou summit and maybe to a lesser degree some of the higher hills in southern Oregon, but you can also just go up the coast and...
  4. Spooky, well that was that then. 😏

I liked it, but I really wish it had been possible just to turn on the motion alert growl, piano, etc, but not have to leave the screens running.
  5. Does auto ride height work for you?

Ride height seems to work for me, but the kneel when parked has about a 50% success rate.
  6. Denied lifting at service center due to Goat Fab rock rails sliders

I had the goat step sliders on my R1T and never had an issue either at the SC or with mobile service, though the mobile guy did take a while to make the decision that it would be fine to use his pucks to lift it up. There's obviously a market and demand for sliders and running boards; perhaps...
  7. What’s New in Rivian Software 2025.38 Update (Now Rolling Out)

I sent the same thing in, also asked about setting the skip ahead to 30 seconds. I keep using my phone for podcasts 99% because I can skip commercials with 1-2 clicks.
  8. Next Rivian Software Release Date?

Current Status of Software Updates from Rivian Roamer
  9. Rivian Switching from Alexa to Google Gemini - Bringing Voice / Text Integration (reported by RivianTracker)

I assume this change would require logging into a Google Account, so maybe that will also allow favorites in Google Maps to sync. Drives me crazy that I can't rename saved locations in the current maps. Having a list of street addresses is far less helpful than "Bob Smiths house" or similar...
  10. Feature Request - Plex

I keep some Plex playlists synced to my phone for the times when there's no cell service - to often IMO - and play via BT. I really wish they would enable USB at least for the HDD and have some basic navigation UI to pick playlists or artists.
  11. Smart Charging Schedule Recommendation... Ha!

There's no TOU plan here (yet), so the update isn't really helpful for me at this point. What would be useful, though, is the ability to designate multiple home/charging locations and set schedules for each of them. Half the time I'm at our orchard, I forget that there is TOU there, plug in...
  12. The worst service experience in the industry

Bellevue is IMO, to be avoided, it's a really small facility with limited capacity. Seattle and Bothell are far larger and, in my experience, much faster to deal with. To me, the biggest issue that's never really improved over the 3+ years I've been driving Rivian is the communication while...
  13. Tesla's Dangerous Doors (electronic door latches) - Can Rivian please not follow this trend?

I've gotten used to the button release in Gen2 front seats, but the backseat release solution is just ridiculous. In an emergency, no way someone in the backseat will know to rip apart that panel to exit. Love my Rivian's, but I don't love the lack of manual release for the door handles, or...
  14. What is your "minor wish?"

Was going to say the same thing. This problem would be solved if I could log into Google Account in Maps, but short of that, just let me rename the saved addresses. Most of what I have saved are kids friends houses, and being able to rename to "Sam's house" rather than 123456 w main street...
  15. Rivian AI assistance for Service got you down? - Quick work around

    1. Pick up the phone 2. Call support The ticketing via the app drives me nuts. It used to be pretty functional and feels like it's gone backwards with the AI.
  16. 2025.22 Update - Official Release Notes (Now With Google Maps Navigation)

Maps look better, and search is a significant improvement in initial testing, but one of my biggest annoyances still hasn't been addressed. Why in 2025, after multiple updates, is it still not possible to change the name of saved favorites? A list of addresses is great, but then you have to...
  17. Interest Request - Physical Buttons

Not sure, maybe below the screen, just under the dash. It might be cool to have that switch in some type of enclosure so it can be flipped open when in use.
  18. Interest Request - Physical Buttons

I'd probably be interested. would be cool to have an assignable switch that could work with something like the Concord Aerospace switches https://www.concordaerospace.com/products/ludicrous-speed-control-panel
  19. Common Myths About CarPlay

I agree to a point, but CarPlay, while not as refined as the Rivian UI, has apps, lots and lots of them that work pretty much flawlessly. I've never seen Spotify or Apple Music on my phone unable to display any information (daily occurrence in Rivian), Google Maps hasn't routed me to the wrong...
  20. Software Team Needs a Revamp

It would take them years to reach the level of Google today, and in the meantime, Google will spend hundreds of millions of dollars further refining and improving its product. The only thing I use Rivian's onboard navigation for is routing from wherever I'm at to specific chargers so the...
