I made my deposit yesterday (7/1) for the R1S.The confirmation email I received doesn’t say when the configurator will be available. It just says, “when it’s time to configure your vehicle.” It does say that production will begin in 2021.

I’ve been on the fence. I have it narrowed down between the R1S and the 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge. I’m not in a hurry...late 2021 or into 2022 is good.

I’d like to add to Mark‘s list, # 5, re: financing. RJ mentioned the possibility of a subscription model. This would be very attractive, and could be the deciding factor for me.

I sent an email to Rivian a few days ago, asking if they will have subscriptions as an option. The person responding, said they were discussing it internally, but for the now, the only options will be purchase or lease.

I’m very interested in what Rivian is doing with Lincoln. I’m one of those older guys who’s looking for an EV, like the R1S, but has the creature comforts of, say, the new Lincoln Aviator. Also waiting to see what Volvo will do with the XC90 as a BEV.
