All in also! I sold my Mini Cooper S in June, that for the most part, was just sitting in the garage depreciating. Weāre both retired, so itās fairly easy to adjust to one vehicle. Having a JuiceBox 40 installed in the garage to prepare for the R1S, and take advantage of the Federal Tax Credit...
It isn't the process of ordering, as much as how they might prioritize the ordering process. For example, if you have Order #5000, and I have Order #50,000, how will they setup the configurator so you can turn your preorder into a purchase, before I'm able to do it? Maybe, as John King was...
Iām wondering how that would work? Will it open up to everyone who has a reservation, or a limited group, depending on when the deposit was made? Perhaps those who went through this process with Tesla can shed some light on how the configurator will work. Thanks!
RJ was talking about a subscription program as a possibility. In April, I asked Rivian about it, and was told they were exploring it internally. They went on to say leasing/financing options will be available, sometime after the launch of the configurator.
With how rapidly this EV technology...
I just saw InsideEVs posted another report, and gave props to Skyler and John for their work. Nice job!

By following these instructions, I was able to find my order #. Once you get to the source codes, you need to go āSearchā and put in Order #.

Thank you @skyote! This is very cool!
I canāt help but thinking about the Lincoln SUV project that was cancelled. Since Rivian doesnāt need production facilities for that project, will that allow them to produce more Rivian trucks and SUVās at a faster rate than earlier expected? Could this be...
This is true for the $250 rebate being offered by my local electric company. Thereās a box on the application to verify that the EnergyStar logo is on the EVSE.
I asked Enel X about the JuiceBox 40 (plug-in) and the issue you pointed out with NEC 625.54.
This is the response I received yesterday:
We understand certain state electrical codes require GFCI breakers so the JuiceBox can operate with these types of breakers. We simply recommend against them...
I like the Enel X products. Iām ready to buy the JuiceBox 40. Itās a plug-in model, and I want to be able to take it with me when I move. The JuiceBox 48 needs to be hardwired. They have $50 off until July 20th.
If this happens, Iām not sure if it would be good for Rivian or not. Opinions?
Brittain Ladd, a former Amazon executive who now runs his own consultancy, speculates that Amazon, facing tremending logistics pressure tied to skyrocketing e-commerce demand, will āseriously considerā acquiring Rivian.
I sent an email to Rivian a few days ago, asking them about EVSE for my garage. Hereās the response I received:
Congratulations on placing a preorder on the R1S! For home setup, additional equipment (eg: Wall Box) with a CCS connector should do the trick. Using a J1772 connector and a 40 A...
Nice article! This quote, by RJ, is one reason why Iām so impressed with this company: āWe really value active humility and letting our actions speak louder than our words.ā
