  1. Jacking with underside panels removed-jack pads required?

This is not true. Check the owners manual. It gives clear instruction for jacking the vehicle, without using pucks. You CAN jack on the jack points after removing the covers. I would go as far as to say it would even be safer to do it that way. The jack puck design is an accident waiting to...
  2. What’s Coming in 2026.15 Update, Including Rivian Assistant

My only question is - did Rivian correct the damn Trip Meter m/kWh and kWh used micro font that showed up in 2026.03? It needs to revert to at least the pre 2026.03 size that was much more legible. There’s NO excuse for the current tiny font. TIA.
  3. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

To be clear, every model I have tried exhibits this shortcoming to one degree or another. I will have to go out at night to try the path observation, as seeing the Comma display during the day is virtually impossible. I can’t watch road, watch for potential oncoming traffic, steer the truck and...
  4. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

Okay, Gerry. I will have to work on that. Model pathing? Do you mean what is being displayed on the nearly invisible Comma display. I know I don’t usually get any warning chirps from the Comma, unless the curve is more extreme. I do wonder if it is an issue with the Comma not seeing what is...
  5. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

During turns, I have monitored the tire position with the cameras. It definitely can start crowding, even riding, the lane border lines. As I have noted, this is mostly a concerning issue on left hand turns where one might be dealing with oncoming traffic. In this case, riding the line is not...
  6. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

It’s definitely crowding/crossing the lines, as seen from the cameras. All 5 models, that I’ve tried, exhibited the same behavior, some worse than others. I’ve tried Down to Ride a couple of times and it was not as good as North Nevada V2. For me, North Nevada is able to negotiate situations...
  7. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

I’ve tried 5 different models and they all did the same thing. Some way worse than others. So far, my current model is easily the best, but still not perfect. Guess I need to try a few more models.
  8. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

Okay, okay. Now, I’m getting pretty excited about shelling out some more cash for this upgrade 🫤 Hey, it’s only money, right āœŒļø I do have one question. I have found that the North Nevada model is clearly the best I have experienced for longer sweeping curves. However, even that model can...
  9. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

I’m in the mountains a lot. I almost always use MADDS mode in those situations. Hard to tell exactly how tight those corners were in your video, but the Comma definitely appeared to be performing better than I would have expected, considering the higher speeds you were going šŸ‘
  10. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

Do it! I’ve had my Comma 4 for about two months, now. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into or if it would be worth it, but what the heck. Well, I think I can now say it has been a game changer. I can’t seem to go anywhere without using it. Sometimes, I think I will just try driving myself...
  11. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

Any updates on the Lukas angle based steering upgrade, when it will be available?
  12. 20" Inch Toyo Open Country A/T III EV 275/65/20 116H tires review

Go with the LT’s, if you go off road, at all. For the record, I now have about 4000 miles on my Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascents LT275/65-20. They are still very quiet and I have experienced no efficiency hit versus the OEM PirellIs. I run them at about 55 PSI. Noticed a little stiffer ride, at...
  13. Maintenance costs pricing is high

For the record, I had to have my SC do an alignment on my ā€˜23 R1T. It was also $287.
  14. Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof for Rivian R1T -- by EV Smart Truck

Intriguing product. I’ve always wondered if/when somebody would come up with this. I only wish that Rivian had offered a solid roof as an option. I would have been all over that. If my current roof does break, this carbon fiber roof may be a perfect replacement.
  15. Angle-based steering now working on Comma for Gen 1 Rivians!

I have the Comma 4, without the Xnor longitudinal upgrade. I haven’t felt the need for that upgrade. But, this new angle steering deal has me very interested. I drive regularly on curvy mountain highways/roads. My stock setup definitely has limitations in this environment. The Xnor angle...
  16. 2026.07.0 update again (same version, different build)

I installed the original release last week. I received a notice to install the updated version a couple of days ago. I have yet to do it, however. When I get in the truck, I actually get a notification to install it. My iPhone app is also showing that I have an update to install.
  17. 2026.07 Software Update notes - features & fixes coming

I understand they differ. Iā€˜ve just lost a little confidence in the last two updates. With the recent Unreal Engine implementation, their UI seems to have gotten worse. Now, we’re seeing a rash of other issues popping up. Just sayin’.
