Now that I have been making charging stops for almost 2 years, I can say I much prefer them over gas stops in my ICE vehicles. Especially since most of my charging is done in my garage while I sleep. Plus, over the span of my R1 ownership the public charging infrastructure has been getting...
I got hit with a significant EV surcharge when I renewed last May, smaller one on my wife's PHEV. You might be in for a surprise this year when you renew...
I've had this functionality on all my cars/trucks/motorcycles for over 10 years - except for the R1T. So, sorry, but I just do not want to accept 'that's how it is now'.
Very interesting - good analysis! Without any detailed data to support it, I've been thinking that my most efficient charging at DCFC stops have been with starting SOC at roughly 20-25%, which also affords me a decent range buffer in the event that the target charging station is not working...
I too got the Hakka R5 for my OEM 22" wheels. Very little wear over the 4000+ miles in Northern Michigan last winter. Very good grip in ice and snow - certainly comparable to previous vehicles that I've run with Blizzaks, X-Ice, etc. My local tire shop charges me $60 to swap off the set so...
Like shap said, the EV Sportline boards are not difficult to install - it just takes a bit of time. Total time for my install including prep and clean up (lots of plastic shavings from cutting the holes) was about 3 hours. Well worth the cost of the RBs and installation effort. Hardest part...
Followed another R1T into an EA in Indianapolis in June 2022. Another pulled up a few minutes later - both Rivian employees. A few minutes after this photo was taken another one pulled to charge. Have not parked next to another one since...
Just towed a car trailer (total of approx 4800 lbs) 250 miles, mostly flat, low 70 degree day, minimal wind. At 50 mph efficiency was 2.0, 65 mph it dropped to 1.62, 70 mph dropped to 1.24. Was able to use RAN on the way. Tows beautifully!
I'm happy the Traverse City RAN is online for my fellow R1 owners that are traveling up here as they had limited options before. I plugged into the 1A (pull through) tower yesterday afternoon and it immediately changed to UNAVALAIBLE. I then tried 2C and it worked like a charm - 218 kw max at...
I used this station today while towing a car trailer north. The pull-through stall in your picture was ICEd so I had to use one of the others from the far side - and that was almost blocked by the placement of a big yellow dumpster there...
The NACS adapter should come with a length of cable so the SC cable can reach the left side of the truck when parked. Otherwise, a lot of Tesla owners are going to be even more unhappy about sharing their Superchargers as we block 2 spots to charge...
