  1. BMW: EV’s are Dead, buy Hydrogen Fuel Cells Vehicles

Perhaps BMW made that decision a bit too soon... Shell Is Immediately Closing All Of Its California Hydrogen Stations (insideevs.com)
  2. Massive decline in mileage

Even with all that the R1T still get vastly better mileage than my Honda track snowblower has been getting the past couple of days! :)
  3. Preconditioning confusion

This is basically how I did it last winter and it worked out quite well.
  4. Chicago to Florida Roundtrip Complete!

Now that I have been making charging stops for almost 2 years, I can say I much prefer them over gas stops in my ICE vehicles. Especially since most of my charging is done in my garage while I sleep. Plus, over the span of my R1 ownership the public charging infrastructure has been getting...
  5. State EV Fees -

I got hit with a significant EV surcharge when I renewed last May, smaller one on my wife's PHEV. You might be in for a surprise this year when you renew...
  6. Rivian Subscription Services - A Look At What's Coming?

I've had this functionality on all my cars/trucks/motorcycles for over 10 years - except for the R1T. So, sorry, but I just do not want to accept 'that's how it is now'.
  7. Charging curve summary over 48 recent DC Fast Charging (L3) sessions

Very interesting - good analysis! Without any detailed data to support it, I've been thinking that my most efficient charging at DCFC stops have been with starting SOC at roughly 20-25%, which also affords me a decent range buffer in the event that the target charging station is not working...
  8. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Built in media player so I can play FLAC music files from a USB drive. I think this was promised quite a while ago.
  9. RAN Charging Costs are now live! (at certain stations)

My first time at the Traverse City RAN in a couple of weeks - no more free charging!
  10. Winter Tires: Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT 275/65 R 20 126/123Q ordered. Experience / reviews?

I too got the Hakka R5 for my OEM 22" wheels. Very little wear over the 4000+ miles in Northern Michigan last winter. Very good grip in ice and snow - certainly comparable to previous vehicles that I've run with Blizzaks, X-Ice, etc. My local tire shop charges me $60 to swap off the set so...
  11. Running Boards

Like shap said, the EV Sportline boards are not difficult to install - it just takes a bit of time. Total time for my install including prep and clean up (lots of plastic shavings from cutting the holes) was about 3 hours. Well worth the cost of the RBs and installation effort. Hardest part...
  12. JFF: If you see a Rivian, you park next to the Rivian

Followed another R1T into an EA in Indianapolis in June 2022. Another pulled up a few minutes later - both Rivian employees. A few minutes after this photo was taken another one pulled to charge. Have not parked next to another one since...
  13. Towing + Efficiency: Please post your experience!

Just towed a car trailer (total of approx 4800 lbs) 250 miles, mostly flat, low 70 degree day, minimal wind. At 50 mph efficiency was 2.0, 65 mph it dropped to 1.62, 70 mph dropped to 1.24. Was able to use RAN on the way. Tows beautifully!
  14. SE Michigan Owners?

    Traverse City RAN is operational.
  15. Likely site of RAN charging station in Traverse City, MI

I charged there yesterday. The pull-through charger, 1A immediately changed status to UNAVAILABLE, but 1C worked great - 218 kw max.
  16. RAN Rivian Charging Stations Locations Map via Google Maps

I'm happy the Traverse City RAN is online for my fellow R1 owners that are traveling up here as they had limited options before. I plugged into the 1A (pull through) tower yesterday afternoon and it immediately changed to UNAVALAIBLE. I then tried 2C and it worked like a charm - 218 kw max at...
  17. RAN Rivian Charging Stations Locations Map via Google Maps

I used this station today while towing a car trailer north. The pull-through stall in your picture was ICEd so I had to use one of the others from the far side - and that was almost blocked by the placement of a big yellow dumpster there...
  18. Rivians built with CCS charge ports will get free NACS adapter, with additional adapters available in the Gear Shop

The NACS adapter should come with a length of cable so the SC cable can reach the left side of the truck when parked. Otherwise, a lot of Tesla owners are going to be even more unhappy about sharing their Superchargers as we block 2 spots to charge...
