I'm sure they cross-referenced these locations to regions with the most reservations, or most number of total vehicles sold, right?

Disappointed to see them skipping Northern Virginia / DC region again though...

No chance. PNW has a HUGE Rivian ownership and is easily in the top 3 for reservations and ownership.

It wouldn’t take that many vehicles to have at least one per space. Production has started this past week I understood and deliveries in June (less than 3 months) so having 35 available shouldn’t be that hard.

This is exactly my gripe. They should have focused on this more rather than a tour and allow the production facing vehicles in spaces first where people can come test out everything. From my contacts at my local spaces, 70% of foot traffic has been for R2 interest.

Yes, it clearly says hop. It does not say sit.

There are probably more Rivian registered in the SF Bay Area than anywhere in the country, probably by a factor of 2.. I guess they don’t feel the need to do any marketing or outreach, they just assume buyers will convert sight unseen.

Completely agree. Oregon has 2 service centers in the Portland metro area and a Space. Seattle has 2 service centers (I think) and a space. Every time I visit there, I see loads of Rivians.

Fwiw this tour is pretty useless and waste of resources lol. If I recall correctly, you won't be allowed to sit in the car...

You can get in, just no demo drives.

I’ll be heading to the Chicago viewing, I’m VERY curious to hear the premium audio system. It’s a big deal for me with any vehicle I own, I hope it has great dynamic range with a good sub .

I think most of the criticism here is valid. People are expecting to take delivery as early as June and according to this test drives won't be happening well into May.

I agree that they'd be better served simply putting an R2 in every show room and I can't imagine that they would be production constrained to the point where that isn't possible. Being forced into viewing an R2 with hundreds or even thousands of other people in a constrained schedule is pretty lame this close to production.
