I saw that. We’ll need to see what the vehicle update contains, if we get one this month.release notes for the app do not mention the assistant. App update is about delivery option of new vehicles.

They saw your thread here and Reddit.Update: this afternoon, the Rivian Assistant was gone again.
It was a fun preview while it lasted. Anytime that integrated with other services (Spotify/maps) didn't seem to be 100% working yet, but the rest was responsive and slick. I can't wait to get it for real!
Likely. Reddit wasn't me, I haven't seen it there... It's okay, it'll come out when it comes out and it'll be awesome. Can't wait! They saw your thread here and Reddit.![]()
AI privacy is worth thinking about, but keep it in perspective. The chatbot is probably the least of your worries compared to the social media app you’ve had open since 2012, or your car, which is already harvesting your location, driving habits, and behavioral data with security practices far less mature than any of the major AI providers. From a data privacy perspective, I really like the idea of an independent AI only for the vehicle. Even if it is based on a public model, I think they said it will work off-line, so likely the only data sharing will be when the model needs updates from Rivian servers.
I really hate the idea of my vehicle linking to Gemini or another public AI service. I might be OK with Grok in a Tesla, since it is already part of the Tesla ecosystem, but Rivian's disconnected solution is superior IMO. In fact, this alone makes me want to stay with Rivian for all my future vehicles.
Can't wait to see how they improve the R1 in the Gen3!!!
I got a loaner recently from Tesla, and when you seat in the car there was a QR code on the screen.I just came back from a service loaner with my phone as a key. Rivian just rolled out this feature. They will set your phone up with an invite so you can use it as a key now.
Come join me in Pixel-land - it's responsive and great. The water is fine, jump on in!I hope this does a sufficient amount of its processes on board the vehicle. Gemini on my (Samsung S25) Android phone appears unable to do many simple things without an internet connection. (Cannot play/pause Spotify; cannot read last text message; etc.) Even the things it *can* do are frustrating because of an inexplicable lag time. I don't understand why this is - what's going on in that little Gemini brain??
"Hey, internet! User TragicMonkey049 just asked me what time it is! Lower his credit score, add this to his dossier and upvalue the sale of his personal information on the dark web! And ... what time *is* it, anyway?
"Internet?
"Hellooo ... internet?
"Ugh, fine. I'll just tell him what time this phone says it is.
"Oh, never mind, he gave up and bought a Timex."
Sooo, can you tell us if it still has Amazon music? Or is that a trade secret?Rivian Assistant is coming soon but not ready just yet.
I would hope you can either set the default music app or tell the RA to play it on _____.Sooo, can you tell us if it still has Amazon music? Or is that a trade secret?
I liked the convenience of "Alexa, play such-and-such artist" so much, I subscribed to it. Or maybe it was all the incessant Taylor Swift commercials nagging me to subscribe.![]()
Optional wake words of "Hey Rivian" or "Okay Rivian" (alternately, the same button press you use now)I would hope you can either set the default music app or tell the RA to play it on _____.
On that note, is it even activated with “Alexa” anymore? Or will it be another wake word?
Jose,Rivian Assistant is coming soon but not ready just yet.
