Was looking for something else in the manual over the weekend and the front trunk page caught my eye. What's this Portable Charger listed? I don't have a spot in my frunk for it. Certainly not the NACS Portable Charger? Because I had to buy that separately (thanks FL for not mandating that).

Also, if you were wondering, the air seal on the frunk is solid. The funk in the frunk was real after I threw some rain-spattered grocery bags back in the front on Sunday.

Only included in the states that required it.
Ah, so if I did live in a state that required the portable charger, there'd be a frunk liner with a cutout for it? That makes sense. Shame that I can't switch it out since I have one now and it's just floating around in the back under my cargo liner.

I believe the portable charger comes in a bag. No frunk liner unless you go aftermarket.

It does come in a bag, I purchased the official one from Rivian about a month ago. It also includes a bunch of cords and whatnot and is significantly larger than what's shown in the manual in that spot for "Portable Charger."

No there is no spot in the frunk for the charger. I have mine in the back beside the spare tire, it tucks in there pretty well.

If it is any consolation, it was in the funk when I picked up my R2.

no the frunk is the same no matter what--they don't change things at the factory for an optional accessory purchased. there would just be a charger placed in the frunk at delivery

That makes sense. It just seems weird to call it out in a diagram like that. To be a bit pedantic, what if the charger shifts all the way over the left or right? Then it's not in the "spot" on the diagram anymore.
I was just hoping for secret storage space so that I'd have one less loose accessory floating around the cabin.

I believe you have to add it and the adapters to your cart when finalizing your order. It will show $650 (?) of added cost until the end and if your in one of the correct states it gives a “100% discount” then says “included”

You might check the gear store. They have the lower frunk liner for the R1S.

This is an R2 thread.
I'm sorry if i offended you.. Are you the Rivian forum police? I am fully aware that the post is about an R2. I merely thought that because the gear store sold the part for an R1, they might have one for the R2. Again I apologize for not being explicit enough for you to understand.

I live in MA and it's required, though they ran out of stock so had to order one for me. It came about 5 days later (I also had to call to remind them, which prompted them to order).
