Alexa still works. I will stay on this update unless they enable high quality Bluetooth audio codecs(not happening) or they enable USB audio(unlikely, but possible) or AA/CP( might happen if Tesla does it)

I'm doing the same thing, staying on this update for Amazon Music.
Though this whole situation did bring to my attention that Spotify has finally come out of the stone age to offer better audio quality that doesn't sound like complete trash.

While on my WiFi and I ask Alexa to play Amazon Music it works.
If I disable WiFi and go solely on Connect+ and then ask Alexa to play Amazon Music it does not work. Switch WiFi back on, and ask Alexa again, Amazon Music works.

If not on WiFi and I go to the Alexa screen, I see a message box saying "Stream in your vehicle with Connect+". If I touch 'Learn More' it takes me to Connect+ screen that shows active subscription. Funny is that the slide-out on the right clearly says "Alexa available with Connect+' . And I have double checked that my Connect+ subscription is active and paid up via the app.

So, something weird going on for me.....

We gave Rivian assistant a chance when it first came out... but it so bad. At least Alexa knew which version of music we like to here. When I ask Rivian Assistant to play a particular song using Tidal, it defaults to some obscure version recorded from someones personal playlist at Karaoke bar. We pay for Tidal, Pandora Premium and Spodify... why is so hard for us to get the song we want without having it already in a playlist?

Amazon Music is still available on the latest version with Wi-Fi connection (e. g. Home wireless or my phone's Hotspot) ?

some “Hey Rivian” commands are still functional aren’t they?
I have found out first hand that in 2026.23, there are no more voice commands for anything unless you have Connect+. "Hey Rivian" doesn't do anything. Yes I'm using my hotspot for streaming and that still works fine, just no voice commands at all anymore.

I think this is the first time that Rivian has removed functionality in the 4 years I've had my vehicle. I'm not talking about expired trial periods - voice commands have always been part of the free feature set since day 1. Until now that is

Welp, I’ve acquiesced. Our beloved Amazon Music is now only accessible through plain old streaming. RA system has claimed another victim. We are defeated. 😉

Yep, and that is frankly unacceptable
