This is only an observation…. When you are in a rough neighborhood the truck will unlock and stay unlocked from a distance that defies Bluetooth capabilities. You notice, hopefully, relock the truck. Upon your return however with your arms usually full the truck stays stoically locked until you dig out your phone and only then does it unlock. 🙂Perhaps a distance adjustment could be added ? After all there has been much time and energy dedicated to important things on updates that we desperately need like DJ Spotify. 🙄
Yeah I know you can turn off proximity.

I just get tickled that sometimes I have to get my phone out at the car to get it to respond. Yet when in our cabin, I walk into the kitchen and the car unlocks and locks constantly through 8x10 logs at a distance. Can hear the hooting. Just don't carry my phone in the kitchen.
I had the same issue at my cabin. Finally realized putting it in camp courtesy mode turns off proximity locking, so that's what I do now. Much better.

Yea there's a lot of tech and options. It will be overwhelming for a while until you dial things in. Congrats on the new car.

In this situation, is your phone in a front pocket, or back pocket of your pants? Because the human body is enough material (for lack of a better word) to affect the Bluetooth signal strength. I've actually tested this out with my Gen 1 R1T (so no UWB, therefore 'less reliable')...

Now this was months ago, so I don't remember exact numbers... but my phone in my front pocket, truck unlocked at a particular distance. Turned around and walked away, making sure the truck locked. Made my way back to the truck, but with my hand in the same pocket covering my phone. I was practically at the truck before it unlocked.

Always in the front pocket, I’m convinced though that it has something to do with whether or not you can read the graffiti or the absence of as to how well it works. Good thought on the body blocking the Bluetooth since when I go to the gym it’s in my hand and I always feel that my truck could be unloaded by the time it locks. Always turn back and look. Trust issues with technology I guess. 🙂

Because we camp regularly, I figured out camp mode and use it at our cabin or at my dad's place, or anywhere else I don't want it locking/unlocking constantly. I wish we could do that from the app though.

I completely disabled proximity locking on all devices the other day. Only way I get in is by pushing buttons on the fob. Cut out all of the unwanted Lock/Unlock bullshittery.

Still only works on the first press about 75% of the time, but it's the least agitating it's been in 2yrs of ownership.

I still maintain PaaK is a poorly thought out, and terribly implemented system, but that rants for another thread.

(Unless I am missing something, as I haven’t read manual since 2022) it would be nice if I could add locations for work and 2nd home to disable the proximity lock. No brainer as you can add multiple locations for garage doors.
Not there yet, as far as I know.

FWIW, as soon as I park in my garage in 2nd home, I edit home location and it holds my other settings. Same for when I go home. And, this is obviously not ideal if you go to the office every day, but reasonable work around
