Tire diameters are same on both options, 32”. The AT have a slightly larger sidewal.

In the end, I think whichever wheel one chooses, the long-term costs will be about the same. The only significant savings would be stepping all the way down to 18"sVery tall guy, dark hair, super chatty and nice, I'd guess mid 40s? I will say though, researching AS options for the 20"s - the other options are generally all more expensive than the OEM's so other than speculation over range...no $$$ value on the 20"s. Which makes me suspect that replacement options for the 21" Pirelli's when they come around won't be that much cheaper either. For example- the Hankook Ions in 21's available now (not the R2 fit) are the same or more than the Pirelli's.
Can't believe I'm waffling over making a choice on wheels - LOL. That stupid whine with the AT's really bothers me as did their squidgy driving characteristics
and it's such a gorgeous blue, so yeah... this is what keeps me up at night. 
There was a Rivian Blue R1S demo there yesterday - Might've grabbed R2 in that color had it been available. Jay was the guy I dealt with - shorter/younger but they're all a good crew.Very tall guy, dark hair, super chatty and nice, I'd guess mid 40s? re: wheels/tires and noise - I've always test driven alone but the 5th one I wanted my husband to at least drive the thing before we plunk down all the money, and I definitely heard more road noise as a passenger with the 20s. Most of that is likely because he doesn't listen to music when he drives (how???!!!) and I have a test drive playlist that I crank, windows down, as soon as I leave the lot. I doubt I'll hear anything but music and my 2 loud boys.
I've waffled on color sooo much - it really bugs me that my launch green fob won't match the Catalina Cove so I've considered forest green. I'm very woodsy and we're up north a lot so the green would blend into the scenery nicely. But then the blue looks better with my eyes and my blue Merle Aussie
I'm Sept/Oct order date so I am chomping at the bit!!! So excited!! Will be sad to say goodbye to my Audi Q5 though, she's been an amazing car and she blends in nicely on the road. I'm definitely gonna feel weird in that carpool pickup line in the bright blue R2.
Not sure where you were looking at prices for the Hankooks vs OEM Prielli's, as the Hankooks are $200/tire cheaper. I just bought them about a month ago...

At Tire Rack - the 255/55R20 SUV is $368. Pirelli's are $415.
Right- that's why I said "approximately" as I was trying to rough out what they might be for R2 as none of the Hankook's are R2 sizes yet. Take the popular Michelin defenders - those that fit the R2 are about $60-380... and the Pirelli's are $415. Larger point being they aren't "subrationally" cheaper. You could ask them if a Gen2 R1 fob would work (I imagine it would), and then you'll have yellow+silver instead of green+yellow. Or, the metal part is attached to the plastic with 4 small torx screws, you could always remove it and replace with a 3D-printed surround in any color you like. 275 is wider on a narrower wheel. R2 width is 8” isn’t it? So theoretically more sidewall bulging and potentially more lateral deflection and slightly less sharp steering response. The other thing is less clearance within the wheel well full lock. But I think someone is already running 275 aftermarket AT (real AT, not in name only) on 20” wheels with slightly less offset (more poke) than factory.
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing - space within the wheel well that could affect things with different width tires.
