I’m probably going to take the plunge and switch out my 22 streets for 20s … for more off-road options (light beach, fire roads, snow) and general aggressive looks.

Looking at pairing with Noikian Outposts after reading threads and reviews. Welcome any comments and feedback about wheel (Atomic?) and other tire options. This is going on my 2025 R1T TriMax.

I went with these from TireRack when I got a set of snow tires for my R1T, and really like the way they look. Picked up a set of black Rivian center caps for them.

The Nokian Outposts are a great choice.

I've driven the stock all season's for 3 years (21" and 22" on two different R1T's). I got a set of 20" Nokian Outpost nATs for a very specific off road vacation. I got separate wheels for them as I didn't think I wanted all terrain tires on all the time. I had the nAT's on over this past winter and for our spring road trip out west. I could not wait to take them off. Over 15% loss in range, noisy, bad driving dynamics (I was honestly scared a couple times driving the I70 mountain passes in Colorado).

Trip report here: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...innesota-to-utah-az-national-monuments.58664/

I put 11,000 miles on the Nokian's and still have them in the garage and will put them back on if I really need an off-road tire but only then. If you really want them, get a separate set of wheels if you can manage and switch back and forth.

As for snow, they did well in snow but not so well on ice. ATs look like a winter tire but they are really not that good for winter driving because they tend to be made from a harder rubber compound for durability.

PS: I just got a set of Continental Viking Contact8 tires for winter. I have the luxury of being able to have multiple sets of tires and I switch them out myself. I didn't think the Nokia's were really up. to the task of Minnesota winters.

Thanks Rick … ok something to consider. Appreciate the feedback.

2023 R1T QM w/20” A/T’s
FWIW, here’s an update on my Bridgestone Dueler Ascents A/T LT275/65-20. I now have about 5400 miles on them. This screen shot only covers the last 4000 miles. I am still very happy with these tires. Minimal road noise and excellent efficiency at 2.34 m/kWh, and slowly climbing as we head into summer. FWIW, I’ve also had my RTT mounted for the last 1000ish miles. The Ascents have performed well on-road and off-road on some fairy gnarly, rocky trails. IMHO, the LT’s are the way to go, especially if you plan on doing any off roading. Basically, I’ve sacrificed little by stepping up to the LT’s versus the OEM SL’s. Going from the stock Pirelli 20’s, I was prepared for a significant efficiency hit, but that didn’t happen. Of course, coming off the 22’s, you will likely experience more of a hit. With deeper tread and sturdier sidewalls, I expect these to last a good while longer than the SL’s. Bridgestone claims these are designed to work well in snow. However, I have a dedicated set of snow wheels and tires, so I dunno.

20” and 22” are more frequent, 21” are the most expensive to replace due it’s an off size.
