About to try a hard reset - but the powered tonneau cover on our gen2 is not ‘locking’ following the 26.30.15 update. As a result anyone can open it by pushing the button on the outside of the truck. All other doors/openings etc seem to be working normally (ie the tailgate doesn’t open - unless there is a paired phone near it etc).

Just a heads up to other to check - suspect/hope just a quirk of our truck, but a weird/scary(ish) one. We keep a wheelchair and bikes in the back - not expecting superb security, but at least a bit more then just pushing the button on an otherwise locked truck.

Is your key close to the vehicle? It will still operate while the truck is locked if so. I'd also make sure the truck is registering it as closed.

ensured this was not the case - the tailgate is working as expected (stated this in my post above but should have been more clear - the tailgate button operates as expected, ie a phone in close range allows opening even on a locked truck; the tonneau cover button is operating even when the phone/watch etc are over 150ft away - how I found this in the 1st place)

FYI - What you've described did NOT happen on my Gen 2 Quad updated to 2026.15.30 last night. I just tried it. Walked out to the car in my carport without my phone, watch, key fob, or key card. Vehicle was locked. I pressed the tonneau cover button and it did not open. I did see the tailgate light flash when I pressed the button but it did not open.
