I, and I’m sure others, will be very interested to see how long it takes to get delivery of your new Lukas harness. I hope you will post that info when it arrives. TIA
The first batch of harnesses are already on their way to US-based distributors and should be in customers' hands in a few weeks.

Totally fair, it does look confusing at first.

The key thing to understand is that openpilot is open source. There’s no single “official” setup beyond the base system. People like Uncle Tony, Lukas, and Sunny (from Sunnypilot) are just community developers building on top of it, not some coordinated company or hierarchy. That’s why you see so many names and options.

The upside is flexibility and fast innovation. The downside is a bit of a learning curve.

Super simple breakdown:
  • Base setup: Comma + basic harness → torque-based steering only (easy, plug and play)
  • Next step: Torque-based steering + Sunnypilot/longitudinal → more capable, full control
  • Coming soon: Angle-based harness → even better steering performance
  • Advanced: Custom forks like Uncle Tony's "AdventurePilot" → extra tuning, totally optional
If you’re just getting started, you can ignore all the extra names. Start simple, use the basic setup with standard openpilot, and it’ll make sense quickly.
it is my understadning the ADVENTUREPILOT FORK works with the longitudinal harness from Lukas and does not required the Angle Based Harness . Does it wirl with the basic harness ?

I heard he was doing US shipping now, is that where yours is coming from? Or direct from EU?
All the product for the US is now shipped to a US distributer to consolodate the customs and make it more efficient.

Wanted to really push angle-based steering on the Rivian, so I skipped the highway and went looking for the curviest, twistiest backroad I could find near me... which, if you know North Texas, is easier said than done. Not exactly known for its winding roads out here. Extra tricky because it's a rural road with zero lane lines.

Not exactly the ideal test environment, but that's kind of the point.

I ordered mine on the 29th. Still waiting but I was late to the game so I fully expect it might be a while. I’m down in hill country Texas so looking forward to seeing how it performs on my curvy roads 😂

Yep, Kaos is right. This video is using DTRv6, but now that we may have the low-speed wobble thing figured out I'm playing around with some of the newer models - specifically OP Model 7. Honestly, though, it doesn't feel very much better than DTRv6 so far and many of the newer models feel worse.

Thanks. I think dtrv6 has been my favorite. Im trying dark souls v2 now and its ok but cuts corners way more than dtr. Trying new models is kinda fun. Ill have to give gwm and op a shot when i get time to install the new harness.
