Gen 1 R1S. Rivian Voice Assist takes 10 minutes from starting my vehicle to connect, then goes in and out constantly in an area with strong cell connections. Constanly get "Rivian Voice Assist is not working" message. Add to that, my Apple Music continues to just stop, only to be started again by pushing the left roller on the steering wheel. Over and over again.

I have tried:
1. Signing out of Apple, reboot full car then reboot entertainment. Sign back into Apple. No luck.
2. Tried turning wi-fi off completely. No luck.
3. Tried crying. Felt better, but did not fix the issues.

Any other suggestions?

I have the same Apple Music Issue. I have not tried anything to fix it other than toggling the quality setting but that didn't do much.

I don't have much issue with Rivian Voice Assist, but my usage is very limited.

I find radio, Apple Music and even the extra paid for Sirus/XM are all glitchy. Getting better, but not reliable.

Don't use Rivian Voice Assist since when I asked her to bring in the side mirrors, she lectured me on how to do it myself.

always keep in mind that a strong cell signal does not guarantee available bandwidth. network congestion in the local cell can still make life miserable (think of a freeway where the speed limit is 65 but traffic is only moving at 15 and occasionally comes to a complete stop during rush hour).

maybe that's what you're dealing with, maybe not. probably worth opening a ticket to Rivian so they can determine if you have a hw issue.

I am getting a minor glitch with Apple Music. Last weekend, I did the full "Log out / login" to Apple Music, and the meta data for my playlist is wonderfully back. It has been working okay, but again, the music just sporadically pauses until I hit the thumb wheel button to start it again, and it picks up where it paused. I wonder if that is not just the Rivian Assistant listening to hear if I am asking it something (though the squiggle lines do not appear)?

Who knows? Perhaps we might still get the "Music from aux USB device" some time soon?

I commented on this long ago. I have been driving for over 50 years and whenever I got into a vehicle, the radio ALWAYS worked, until now. Even Sirius/XM does not work like a normal satellite driven device. So there is a fix, and certainly not a pricy fix for the cost of these vehicles - real radios run off of transistors and a satellite based Sirius/XM system. Problem solved. Why are we allowing tech to get in the way of our enjoyment of our vehicles when there are easy fixes?

Turn off the spatial audio on the Apple Music and the skipping will stop. Have to be in park to do it.
