I agree, do another Hard Reset. Space resets out at least a day if you do more than one more. This is just my caution with back to back resets.Reboot again. You might need three reboots.
LOL.
No. Other than the minor issue with elevation history getting erased, which was fixed in the new update, it is just fine. Do it.Should I push off the update for another week or so?
So Connect+ vehicles have no control of the download and the basic version gets an option to delay?Pretty much on schedule (2 - 3 weeks after the OTA initially starts getting pushed out), Rivian notified me this morning that it's my turn to download their latest update. In the past, this normal (for me) delay has been enough time for Rivian to fix the bugs but this version seems to be a bit more buggy than usual.
Is my impression real or just apparent? Should I push off the update for another week or so?
Where did you come up with that? Totally false. So Connect+ vehicles have no control of the download and the basic version gets an option to delay?
Brilliant.
I hope that my previous posts did not imply that. Those like me who are not Connect+ subscribers tend to be among the last to get the OTA updates, and the reverse is also true. I did say that there is arguably a benefit to being at the end of the update line as a consequence of not being a Connect + subscriber because the delay usually means that any bugs have time to be corrected before the update is even pushed to you. As far as I know however, all Rivian owners can opt to either install the updates manually, on their schedule (my choice), or elect for the update to automatically be installed. So Connect+ vehicles have no control of the download and the basic version gets an option to delay?
Brilliant.
. . .
OK so I have turned off the auto install. This will also put a hold on the download?Where did you come up with that? Totally false.
If you choose "Auto install" in the app or "Automatically install updates" in the vehicle, then your updates install automatically. If you don't choose that option then you have to manually initiate the update. It's that simple. Manual update is the default, so if YOU have "no control" that's because YOU chose "Auto install".
That was my point I made above and got chewed out.It will download when it's your turn, and you'll get a notice on your phone and a prompt in the car asking if you want to install. Just ignore that / dismiss it until you're ready.
