One advantage of white in hotter climates is that it reflects heat more than any other color.
It really doesn't make that much difference, just get the color you want to see every time you walk up to your ride :)

Lifelong FL native, I've parked in driveways, theme park lots, at docks in the Keys where the vehicle sat for 12 hours all day in some insane direct sun and heat, I've had white/yellow/red/black/silver/gray/orange, hardtops, convertibles, etc., like 20 or so vehicles even in the last 24-25 years or so.

Nothing made enough of a difference where I would've ever considered a color because of temps. Have 5+ years of EV ownership, that also wasn't notable affected by the color.

Funny enough, the car with the most heat resistance is the current, dark gray BMW iX, even with the huge windshield and electrochromic roof, because of the killer thermal heat management they've applied (various glass treatment, coatings, etc.)

With an EV, just open the app, tap-tap-tap, the car will be cool by the time you get there :)

You have proof others have tighter tolerances?
Visual observation of my 2014 Mazda 6 to start with. It just looks more noticeable and I haven’t noticed it on other vehicles standing out. Seems like others have also commented on this forum that they have similar observations - so it is at least perceived if not real. Perception matters.

It could be that it is right by a cut line which exacerbates the look of not the actual gap.

They seem more chrome than dark. The 20” are darker.
So my main hangup point on the R2 performance has been the default 21" wheels. They look dark here. That is awesome. Elsewhere, they look more chrome-like, which makes them look kind of cheap. Has anyone seen them in person to verify what the overall look of the rims are? I wish they offered the 20" as the default for the performance that has been on all the test vehicles up until now.

Are they amber on the R1?
They are in Canada, not the US.

Red rear turn signals piss me off - especially on vehicles where they do make them amber for other markets. The German automakers, who are required by German law to use amber, but put red on US-market vehicles *built on the same line in Germany* are especially annoying.

They have to go through extra expense to make the vehicle worse for the US market.

Yeah degradation-engineering really bugs me. Astounding that Volvo did that to SPA1 cars for NA.

I guess we'll know for sure re: R2 soon enough.
