2025 Rivian R1T - Large. Delivered on November 23, 2024.
Occupation
Retired
Honestly, with the way people scrutinize every action Rivian takes I’m impressed there are as few mistakes as there are. I’ve been a part of many different companies and most of them aren’t ran as well as Rivian is for the stage of their business.
Welcome to Social Media. 😐 At least, for the most part, the participants on these forums remain civil and cordial, and there actually IS quite a bit of sound advice... along with the grousing and snark.

Regardless of how miserable some people on these forums seem to feel about their Rivian experiences, mine have been excellent. Tomorrow marks one year with my R1T. I just... observed... the postings here since joining. Thankfully, a lot of folks here genuinely worked through matters and shared their learning experiences. I have used all of those learning experiences; charging, tonneau cover issues, bug resolution, etc. all of the information was invaluable to me, to reduce my anxiety with a new technology and move along.

I've learned to just ignore the rest.

...but the snark is good! :)

Anyhow.

Happy with my R1S.

It didn’t come without issues and I credit the Las Vegas Rivian service center for their outstanding service.

The last thing I want is to have texting in the vehicle. I will get to it later.
If you have an emergency then call 911.

I wonder if they fixed the bass in this one.

Nope.

The bass is good, actually. The problem is the front speakers are out of phase with the rear. I am sure that can be fixed with a software update, but I am also not sure Rivian wants to do that. For some reason they determined the out of phase situation sounds better than in-phase. That can be true, but generally out of phase speakers wash out the bass especially at high volumes.

This OTA update was purely to fix bugs, not to improve anything. Improvements will be in the next update.

That too, but they also reduced the bass output (confirmed by service center techs).

So what about the Gen1? We could use some of those bug fixes too! We have to plug in the Gen1 twice for it to start a charge.
