I have a Gen 2, and I set it to turn on with motion. It was very fun watching all the trick-or-treaters jump when the truck would growl at them as they arrived at my front door. Very well done, and we got a lot of compliments from the parents.

Gen2 definitely got a better halloween update since the exterior motion activated sound effects was a new thing we did not have in previous years. Gen1 got no love. Frog sound disappeared today, sadness.

I am grateful they kept the owl from prior years as an option, permanently.

Agreed, but I had it running for 4-5 hours and didn't even drop a percent of battery, so it wasn't a huge deal.

Features like this are just as beneficial to your software team as they are to your customers. Giving your team a small break to have some fun with their jobs will improve output for the rest of the year. Not to mention improving morale on that team and reducing employee turnover. In short, things like this generate revenue for Rivian through the benefits they create.

Perhaps, but when I was a software engineer, we got satisfaction from fixing hard to squash bugs and implementing features our customers wanted vs filigree.

But that was back when software had to work out of the box. We did t have do-overs via Jenkins.
