I hope you're right, but at one point, the underseat storage was to be displaced by the battery. The subwoofer had nothing to do with it. I believe it remained where it currently sits.

I hope we find the answer "in the near future".
I shall check with our friends in customer service tomorrow!

A few additional information voids that are top of mind (obviously there is a ton of other missing information):

1. No word on R1S interior walk-through and details like R1T had before launch.
2. No work on Max Pack R1S
3. Are Guides still a thing? They promised contact by Thanksgiving, then moved it to an email update not from a Guide without any direct recognition of the Guides.
Begining, Starting in 2023 ... heck of way to ring in 2022. Hopefully 2022 goes by faster than 2021 did .. whew.

To be honest, as much as people do not want to be, this the norm of a product high in demand from a company this short into their production phase. Have to remember, Rivian started taking funds from people roughly 3-4 years ago, and only started producing stuff 3 months ago. To expect them to be at a capacity 1/2 of what legacy automakers are at is ludicrous at this point in time. A 2-3 year wait on a battery they haven't even begun to extensively get EPA'd yet all while trying to met current demands is nothing. Just got to have patience regarding the matter. If people are going to be impulsive, this isn't the product for them ...

So people, a LOT less of this ;)
To be fair, I'm not setting the timelines. I am also taking them with a grain of salt each time I hear one as they keep slipping.

I sound down on rivian, but I do still have faith they are the company I want to get behind. The product is compelling and fits my lifestyle. It just needs to pull up to my house already dammit! ???

Also, I think they are withholding my delivery window email, every negative feeling I have about waiting, they add an extra quarter to the delivery date ?

11/2020 LE R1T in SE PA est. delivery 4-5/2022, this timeline for your R1S and difference in preorder date seems to make sense. No?

I look forward to hearing how things may have changed. Here's what was out there two years ago on a different forum. And to be clear, that's not my post. ?

Rivian R1T R1S ? Update from RJ on production & deliveries -- via email letter 12/28/21 Screenshot_20211229-160023_Chrom

I also seem to I recall that they may have reduced the size of the Max Pack at some time in the interim (maybe around the time they stopped referring to it as the 400-mile pack?), but I've never paid much attention to it. I've been locked into the Launch Edition/Large Pack from the get-go.

All this said, I hope they've found a way to allow the storage compartment to be in the Max Pack versions of the R1T. ?

Yes, when they announced that LE would not start delivery in June 2021, it was not rational to expect non-LE deliveries to still be made in January 2022.

As far as what Rivian ”promises” you, this is what the pre-order agreement states:
Oh I fully understand that legally there is zero commitment, but I'm still 100% entitled to call it lame.

Are you pretending that if they decided to make a compact 2WD passenger car instead of a truck/SUV that you'd be OK with it?

That's a pretty
MAX Pack - why? I understand range anxiety, but $10k is a huge premium for ~114 miles. For the few road trips you take you can fly, rent a car, or deal with the charging for a lot less. Most of us will only own this for 3-5 years, and better technology will be out by then. Unless you are doing a lot of towing I don't see where the MAX pack makes sense. Just my thoughts.
yep. towing is the answer and weeks of camping/overlanding

Or a 125 mile one way highway commute to work in the middle of a polar vortex with nothing more then a 110v wall outlet waiting for you to charge your car when and if you do make it to your place of employment.

Max Pack... 2023... Damn it!

Well the 10k I save not getting the Max Pack I could install a level 2 charger at my work... Or maybe I could get my work to install a level 2?

I never got 275 miles range in my Tesla, despite it saying "275 miles" range.

I did have the 21" wheels though and I was a EV noob.

But what the hell... Getting the Large pack and having 315 miles of range will make driving exciting for me again.

And when I say exciting I mean potentially getting stranded with zero juice in the box.

All I'm hoping for is that in January when CS tries to get a hold of me they'll actually have someone call me on the phone and be able to at least at that point answer some basic questions for me.

If 80% of your orders are Large Packs, and 20% Max Packs, which Rivian by way of there 2023 BS is now coercing into changing to a large pack. This basically is making almost everyone go to a Large pack order, and if we're all going large pack (90+%), then I at the very least hope they'll let people who had extremely early 2018/2019 preordes move up in the delivery line based on the date of their preorder.

Otherwise it's just kind of a total slap in the face.
