LA Silver + STEK Dynomatte PPF

I did a matte PPF on my LA Silver and other folks posting photos of their R1s with matte PPF helped me decide that it's something I wanted to do, so I thought I'd put mine here as well. Overall it came out great. I love the way it looks like brushed metal and mutes almost all reflections. There's gloss on the black pillars and bumper, etc, and ceramic on top of all of it.

I really hate matte cars. I've become bored of silver and dislike it. I love this. Don't know why, it just works.

I can't tell the difference. To me, silver = just another boring shade of gray, but it's your car and I'm glad you're happy with it.

I have found that silver is the best color for hiding dirt, unlike say, white, black or forest green (which is what I got, I love green, I just don't like it $2500 more than silver). I wanted to get silver, but in order to qualify for the $7500 incentive, I had to take delivery before September 30th, and there was no guarantee I could get a silver one in the trim I wanted before then, so I got what I got. I like it, but it shows every bit of dirt. Your silver looks great. You will find even when it's a little dirty, it will still look mostly clean.

Looks awesome to me! I love the contrast between the black and silver. And matte does look really good, especially the way you did it.

BTW - how do you plan to handle washing it? I think running it through a car wash could scratch the PPF, and probably the wax they like to spray on it will mess up the matte finish.

My wife's Jeep is wrapped with gloss vinyl. I did car wash it once, and there are tiny little scratches in various places now (not all over). It still looks good, but regular car washes will really add up and eventually the scratches will be noticeable. I really don't like hand washing. So I am going to have it detailed tomorrow. LOL.

I bought my LA silver R1t from the Rivian shop 15 months ago, and it came with free full body stealth PPF. It's been a pleasure. Easy to clean. Hides dirt well. I love the stainless steel like finish. Holding up very well. I hand wash it and use a California car duster frequently.
Good choice.

I've been hand washing it and just plan on continuing that. Good news is that silver hides dirt insanely well, so I almost never have to clean it.

Fellow NJ-er, this looks awesome. I'm probably going to do if i decide to purchase mine when lease term ends, i have the same color combination as well.

The shop where I went was in Scotch Plains. I'm pretty happy with the result with the exception of how they applied the badges. Despite there being a template with the badges I bought (it's not the original) a couple letters on the back are kind of off. You may be able to see in the photos that the letters on the driver side door are higher than on the passenger side. Also, the letters on the passenger side are slanted with the N half a cm higher than the R. They say that they'll fix all that so I'll hold judgement until that happens but I'm kind of disappointed that they just eyeballed it when they seemed to put so much care into everything else. Am I nitpicking? Maybe. Will anyone other than me notice it? Probably not. But I definitely notice it and it kind of bothers me that it's not perfect for what I paid.
