I bought the michelins. I was replacing the pirellis every 15k (front only), but the michelins lasted 25k (front, yes I dont bother rotating) and the rear have 50k on them. My efficiency went up to 2.48, but that's also a factor of the wheel weight (msw). I dont feel great on mountain roads bc of the lack of thread depth, but I think they handle great in snow (I live in park city) and still last in the summer heat. Overall, they're great if you're lazy like me and want one tire to handle a variety of circumstances.
Which Michelin's the LTX Platinum or M/S2? What was your efficiency previously?

Trying to get an idea of what the efficiency/range hit would be with the 275/65R20 with the M/S2 vs the standard 22" wheels.

If you want efficiency and not sacrifice stock steering feel and suspension tuning, M/S 2. The Platinum is a LT. Hint: compare weight of each to stock tires you are replacing.

Rotating wheels/tires are like gyroscopes. Heavier they are the harder it gets to move them about, the faster they spin.

Yeh I was never considering an LT tire or the Platinums. I specifically mentioned the M/S2’s so I’m not sure why you responded

Because you were asking which they were running. If you are after efficiency, without downsides of increased weight, the Platinum isn’t the one you care about between the two.

Discontinued. Replaced by AT4W. 18 lbs heavier than the factory Pirelli AT. That is very significant, since rotational mass is exponentially higher, with increasing speed, than static mass.
Discontinued, but still scattered around if you know where to look: https://www.amazon.com/Falken-Wildpeak-AT3W-Terrain-Radial/dp/B01C53C6XS

I'm still running these on my AT/winter wheels. While I don't recommend 115 load index now that there are plenty of 116+ options, they've been nothing but great for me. They grip well on wet and snowy pavement, got me out of some slushy gravel spots without hesitation, and grip very well on gravel roads. I rally mode'd on FS roads going 50mph around a curve; pucker moment for sure, but handled like a champ.
