I searched and can't find a comment on it.

Did the option to turn off Brake Assist on Regen go away on Gen 2?
My Gen 1 R1T had a specific toggle for it that is missing on the settings in Gen 2.

You cannot turn off regen. There is low, normal and high. Same for gen1 and gen2.

If you are referring to the use of friction brakes when the battery is at 100%, both generations still have that option for the "fake" regen.

Thanks, not general Regen but the option that used to be there going back to a 2023.50.01 update;

"Regenerative Brake Assist
The new Regenerative Brake Assist feature improved deceleration performance in cold climates, on long downhills, and in vehicle high states of charge by blending more consistently and seamlessly with standard braking. To disable this feature, go to Settings > Driver+ > Regen Brake Assist."

I had that toggled off on my Gen 1. I don't see the option in the same spot on my Gen 2 (it's gone).

I know I unchecked this option and I’m in a Gen 2. It’s been awhile though. Wonder if it’s changed in an update.

The owners manual states is an "automatically enabled option" for Gen2, but does not explicitly spell out where you can disable it. I know in my Gen1, I have it disabled. But I'll check later to see if the option is still there.

Oddly both the 2023, 2024, and 2025 manuals have the identical entry.

Have G1 and was able to disable after the update last week. It was under the Driver+ menu as the last option in settings.

that's what I'm wondering. Did they remove it in an update (or auto setting for Gen 2 that's no longer an option) or does my car have a glitch?

I'm starting to think they make it automatically enabled for Gen 2. Bummer, I liked having it off.

I’ll have to check when I get home. I do know that I’ve had it off for months, and I just drove a some very steep declines on Sunday with no brake assist

To add, I had it disabled before update and had to redisable after the update. It was easy to feel difference for me.
