Personally I think claiming this capability was "promised" is a bit strong. Definitely Rivian promoted and marketed the R1 by showing it do a tank turn. Probably they had every intention of releasing that capability but decided it was either too dangerous or too destructive. IDK.

The only thing Rivian "promised" is what was received the day the truck was delivered.

This. It was never in any reservations, configs or order sheets. It was in a few social posts/video edits as technology demonstration. Nothing more.

Tank turn pushed me over the edge for reserving my first R1 vehicle. It's not enough for me to complicate my life yet with a NACS vehicle though, so, I guess I'll keep waiting.
