I was also told the problem with the Tonneau cover was that it was expanding in high heat and shrinking in cold weather. This caused problems when retracting it. They’ve sourced a new material and are making the necessary changes.
You must have talked to Bill. He told me the same thing. He was a wealth of knowledge

Here's what I got from Customer Service this AM:

Morning. I am a May 2019 LE R1s LG 20 AT order holder
Is it still the case that I can expect to be contacted by Thanksgiving?
by a guide

Yes, and I appreciate you asking. Rest assured, you will be contacted by a Guide in the coming days, with the end of this month being the latest. Once you are contacted by a Guide, he or she will provide you with a delivery window along with when you can expect to take ownership of the R1

Thanks - how is the contact - phone or email? If phone, lmk please if 800 number - i often don't pick those up

The Guide will reach out via email, and once you have established contact you will have the ability to text, call or email your Guide anytime

When they originally said contact by late Nov I think most of us thought a real phone call not a mass email. Obviously when no one has been contacted the last few months an email was the only solution.

Well, even the first contacts were emails which asked for a convenient time to talk. We all thought these contacts would be ongoing until the end of November. That only made sense. If there were thousands of LE preorders, we thought it would take months to contact everyone. I don't think anyone was ready for this, maybe not even Rivian?

They should've said "everyone else will be contacted at the end of November".

Chat with CS today, still on track for guide contact by end of the month. My speculation, email end of November, phone call before end of December, projected delivery February through April, contact later when delivery is closer. Preorder May 2019, but in southeast and no reports of significant activity at service center site in Atlanta. If that makes any difference... guessing it does.

If it’s just a mass email, why wait/why would they miss another self-imposed deadline by just a few days if it’s a mass email?

Since they have contacted maybe 100 people so far it’s very doubtful they can call 7500 people( my estimate of LE) in ten days. However u might be right.

My understanding is that the email will include the email and phone number of the guide and once you have to contact info for your guide you can reach out to then whenever you want for the lifetime of the vehicle. You don’t need to wait for them to reach out to you.
