Rivian Portable Charger - Not available for ordering in California???

I just got off the phone with customer service and they said I couldn't order an extra Rivian Portable Charger in California due to "state regulations." Are there any suggestions on how I can order another charger for my R1S in CA? They said I couldn't even pick it up at a service center unless I was out of state. They also said that I could order a wall charger to be installed, no problem. Thoughts? Ideas?

That's odd. Just looked and there are a handful of other products that can't ship to California like the Rivian duffel bag and travel kitchen.

I'm guessing that they're known to the "State of California" to be hazardous to your health if you were to chop them up into small pieces in a blender and drink them like a smoothie /S

Funny thing about the duffle bag, can’t ship to CA but ships from Riverside, CA.

@mri166 you can order any plug in charger with a J1772 connector. Something like this would work but there are several out there.

I'm also struggling with things that won't ship to California. I have all this Rivian rewards points but anything I want won't ship to CA: Travel Kitchen, Manual Tonneau Cover, Tailgate Pad, Off-Road Recovery Kit...seems the only things I can buy are t-shirts, sweaters, and mugs. lol. oh and the overpriced awning.

I bought a new in box Rivian portable charger from a buy on eBay who was selling them.

I'd look there. It was way cheaper than what Rivian was asking for it.

EVSEs are all about the same, they are very dumb devices. There are better options for less than the Rivian. I have a $100 Godiag that works fine with my various EVs.
