Using my Sherlock skills I can add the following to the discussion. Based on the pictures I saw in this article from the launch event, it looks like the top of the tent's case is either glass or a clear plastic. From the pictures above, it looks like there is a white cover/blind you can employ for privacy. Imo this likely doubles as the projector screen that has been mentioned. It also looks like the included lights are attached to the center support pole which I am guessing is where power would be routed through allowing a projector would be mounted. What does this mean? Nothing, but its a neat setup for sure.

Looks sweet! I am a bit concerned about how it will handle heavy wind and sideways rain, but I imagine they will test that.

Any chance you got photos of the hardshell top while open? The last photo from the showroom shows a sliver of the panel. Do you know if it's glass or polycarbonate/acrylic? I hope it's glass, since anything else would get all scratched up, but I hope they have a cheaper no-glass option because in the words of JerryRigEverything "Glass is glass, and glass breaks." Also, a solar top option would be cool to power the campsite (though the angle it opens to is less ideal than other clamshel RTTs).

Well it would take a lot of political will to remove a country from a continent but I was really just being difficult, I understand you meant the European Union and not the European continent

Yeah, put the kids in the tent. I’m staying inside the vehicle with the HVAC.

I know they said it would have lighting and even a screen to watch movies, but I wonder if it would be heated and cooled some way.

I don’t know. The solutions for that are complicated. Running lights or a screen is one thing, but heating/cooling takes a lot of energy. You wouldn’t want to drain the battery even more by pushing air outside of the cabin into a vented tent. It would be like running the heat or AC with the windows down all night long.

It's actually a hand warmer and battery pack.

That’s one thing I’m fine if it doesn’t make it into production. The flashlight is kind of a gimmick but could be useful. The hand warmer will get used by very few people.

It doubles as a backup phone battery/charger. That might get more traction.
