It's not a debate worth having. It was already settled years ago. It's a net positive for consumers.Whats the standard in Europe?
As a united group they have the second highest amount of light duty electric vehicles.
How are they surviving with out ncas?
Have I debated anything? Arent we talking about facts? It's not a debate worth having. It was already settled years ago. It's a net positive for consumers.
Umm... So, here's the obvious thing. That's because NACS was not a SAE standard then, when those cars were developed. And no one, including Rivian, wanted to be beholden to you know who. It is now. J3400. Look it up.Interesting that some of the most adavanced ev's ( from china) and fastest charging vehicles ( Porsche and lucids) all developed with out nacs.
What will cars from Europen countries develop their charge ports for when using them in Europe?Umm... So, here's the obvious thing. That's because NACS was not a SAE standard then, when those cars were developed. And no one, including to Rivian, wanted to be beholden to you know who.
Who knows. I don't live or drive there, so whatever they want. What will cars from Europen countries develop their charge ports for when using them in Europe?
I know. I am laying it on pretty thick here.Who knows. I don't live or drive there, so whatever they want.![]()
Just playing alongI know. I am laying it on pretty thick here.
And when I bought my first EV (BMW i3,) CCS1 was by far in the minority (Electrify America didn't open their first station until later.) Most (non-Tesla) stations used CHAdeMO. I made that mistake my very first EV road trip, pulled into a station that had both CHAdeMO and CCS1 ports, to find the CCS1 cable had been vandalized. Had I checked PlugShare, I would have known to not try to rely on that station. The vast majority of non-Tesla vehicles and stations have CCS1 ports. There's still a significant portion of Tesla stations that will be incompatible with CCS based NACS vehicles until Tesla rebuilds them. I personally still don't see the point, and I'm probably in the minority of people who have charged using a non-Tesla NACS station to charge a non-Tesla vehicle. The adapter worked fine.
SAE J3400 is an open standard.. not sure what you think the problem is.Things have changed since then. I cannot elaborate or the board Admin will ban me.
Again, NACS is no longer controlled by Tesla. It was approved by a regulatory board as SAE J3400. Third-parties can manufacture this plug. It is superior to CCS1 in many ways.Pay attention, the world has changed significantly since then
