Paused Music Plays When Opening Any Door

Hi all,

R1S recently started playing music from the dashboard infotainment (e.g., built-in Spotify/XM etc) as soon as I open the door, even after pausing the music and leaving the car for hours/days. This is new behavior and doesn’t involve Bluetooth.

Anyone else seeing this with the main infotainment system?

Any fixes or troubleshooting tips other than reset (tried already)?

No... but I would LOVE for my Amazon Music to start back up every time I get in the car without my having to ask (perhaps not if having left it paused though, which I almost never do).

Interesting. The R1S used to have this behavior—automatically playing music on wake if I hadn’t paused it. Now, it just plays music all the time, obv less than ideal.

I like the music turning on at startup. Unfortunately, mine doesn't do that all the time.

Mine exhibits the same strange behavior. (Gen 2 r1s). I noticed it in Sirius. Park the car at work. Leave for lunch and the remaining part of the song continues. Even more, the channel isn’t live. I need to fast fwd thru all the songs to get to the live broadcast. Dumb bug. But at least the radio is no longer on full blast when I get back into it. Lol

It will resume after short stops but not when parked for longer periods, such as overnight.

For me it resumes when I get back in the R1s, or when I hang up from a phone call. I can be riding along in peaceful quiet, make a call, when I hang up - the Sirius XM starts playing whatever it was on last.

Back in the day, we had something called a switch - you could have your radio on, or off. In the never ending race to get more "engagement" from us, they find ways to simply play whatever they can play without us having to take an action. Very frustrating to me. It would be nice if it was a setting - clearly some people prefer auto play. I don't.

Agreed. It’s incredibly annoying to have a radio that won’t turn off.
