I do have to chuckle a bit at their web site, which calls them "Urban Adventure Vehicles" while showcasing them in outdoor settings. Bit of a mixed message.

A bit Canoo-ish in the design. I kinda dig it but I doubt I'd buy one if they make it to market.

I think it's great to have diversity in the EV marketspace to fit a variety of needs and tastes.

However, at $41k for the yet-to-be-produced, bare-bones single-motor base model, these are not priced competitively. There are many EV's in that price range from well-established companies. None are micro-trucks, but they do all daily non-truck things very well.

(Paid far less for my salvaged R1T and it is far more capable by every measure.)

I wouldn’t want to get in an accident in that. Might as well be driving a motorcycle.

I like the versatility it offers in a tiny package, mid gate, gear tunnel, SUV cap, 8 seater and etc. Not too keen on the design but pre-order price seems good. Just don't think they'll make it to market with all those features intact.

It's really compelling as a "small cargo carrier." I'd much rather have this than a mini cooper (which is exactly the same length).

But as to how modular it is, I think it's more of a "gen2" purchase for me, no idea how leaks, wind noise, rattles and all the weirdness that could come with removeable midgates, rooflines, etc. might be...

Similar thinking here, and we pick up our Rivian R1S on March 21st! Excited. Sure wish that Rivian had an electrical input interface for charging at widely varying rates from solar panel arrays of widely varying sizes. Maybe Telo will have such an interface for its built-in solar panels as well as for connection of external solar panels such as mounted on a trailer when resting out in the sun for longer periods -- parking lot or campsite, wherever.

I don’t see what’s “mixed.” You can live in an urban environment where you have to street park or use a parking garage but still carry your stuff to the beach or other adventures. CEO gives exactly this example in interviews.

I really dig it. We're a one car family but if we move and need a second car this is more appealing than a Mini.

Sorry if I wasn't clear in my meaning.

If you visit their website https://www.telotrucks.com/
they have a big banner that reads "Urban Adventure Vehicles" yet none of the 3 accompanying photos shows the vehicle in an urban environment.

IMHO, that is a mixed marketing message.

I don't mean to talk down the vehicle. It may be somewhat off-road capable, with extreme approach and trailing angles, a 10" clearance, and 4WD (only with the dual motor version).
